Bird One Electric Scooter Review. Decent one electric scooter

Bird One Electric Scooter Review

If you live in California, chances are you have seen a Bird One zooming by. The older sibling of the Bird Zero, which is Bird’s ride-sharing electric scooter, the Bird One is among the newer electric scooter models to launch onto the market. But how does the new stylish Bird One rank against other electric scooters on the market in terms of performance?

Good Range and Decent Speed

With a maximum range of 48km (30 miles), the Bird One has one of the better ranges for a commuter scooter. With a decent range, you are less likely to be left pushing your scooter home at the end of the day.

One thing to be mindful of is that although extended range is a great feature of the Bird One, the designers have not been able to reduce the charging time of the scooter. The Bird One takes approximately 4-6 hours to fully charge, so although you have plenty of riding time, you also might be spending a decent amount of time on the sidelines as you wait for your electric scooter to recharge.

Once you do get riding again, the Bird One should be able to get you where you need to go in good time. With a maximum speed of 29km/h (18mph), which although isn’t the fastest electric scooter you can get, it is still a decent option.

Nice Tech Features

The Bird One has done a good job including some valuable tech features including an in-built GPS. This system helps owners keep track of their scooters, which can also act as a theft-deterrent.

This electric scooter can also be paired with your smartphone using either Bluetooth or cellular connection. Using the Bird app, you are also able to lock your scooter remotely, so you know that your Bird One will be secure at all times.

Lacks Comfort

Probably the biggest drawback of the Bird One though is the lack of comfort when riding. Although the choice of semi-solid tubeless tyres is great when avoiding punctures, it makes for a very uncomfortable riding experience, especially when travelling over uneven surfaces or over potholes. This wouldn’t necessarily be a major concern if the electric scooter has a decent suspension system to compensate, but the suspension on the Bird One is not as effective when compared to other scooters on the market.

Additionally, in order to give the scooter its impressive range, the Bird One has had to accommodate a heavier battery. Although it is common for long range electric scooters to weigh more than other electric scooters, some models (e.g. Raine One) are still able to keep the overall weight down by using a lightweight frame.

However, weighing approximately 17.5 kg (38.6 lbs), the Bird One is definitely not the lightest electric scooter you can get. This can be especially problematic if you plan on taking your electric scooter onto public transport, up stairs or you need to store your electric scooter away.

Price

At a price of 1299 USD, the Bird One is one of the more expensive commuter electric scooters on the market. Although this price point can be justified due to the scooter’s decent range, tech features and aesthetics, some may argue that you can get more tech features and better performance at a similar price point.

Overall, the Bird One is a reliable electric scooter that will get you where you need to go. Its stylish design, which is available in three colors, is also a drawcard for this electric scooter. You can tell that the designers have invested-heavily into creating a secure, high-tech and reliable scooter. However, the lack of comfort when riding may be a major drawback. Even though this scooter has an impressive range, you may only be tempted to ride the Bird One for shorter journeys as it’s simply not comfortable for longer commutes.

Decent ONE Electric Scooter

Decent deliver quality experience for an affordable price. The scooters include front and rear mudguards, mechanical brakes, lights, a bell, soft footplate and hand grips, sticky tyres, a thumb throttle and a bright LED display showing speed, mode and battery capacity.

The IP54 rating makes them suitable for year-round use. At only 13kg, the Decent One is lighter than many competitor scooters. It can be folded down in seconds, carried in one hand and is compact enough to be stowed under a train seat, or in the boot of a small car.

Decent Performance

In sport mode, the 350w front-mounted hub motor propels the scooter up to its top speed of 18.6mph in seconds. Load-dependant, it can cope with inclines as steep as 20%.

Three user selectable drive modes feature speed limits of 6mph, 9mph and 18.6mph can be combined with the scooters simple ‘press and hold’ cruise-control function, to aide you in relaxed cruising, or maximising the range from each battery

Further speed limits of 12.4mph and 15.5mph can be set within the menu system, as can enabling a standing-start feature, negating the kick-push required on many competitor models.

Decent Comfort

Want a smoother, more stable ride? When it comes to tyre size, Decent believe that bigger is better. The One and One Max are fitted with huge 10-inch diameter pneumatic tyres that soak up bumps and take the fatigue out of longer rides.

Run at recommended pressures these tyres are puncture resistant and can be filled with sealant for peace-of-mind. Fitted with easily accessible ‘car’ type Schrader valves, they can easily be inflated without fiddly extra adaptors.

Should a puncture occur, the tyres and inner-tubes are readily available and much simpler to fit than those found on competitors scooters.

Decent X7 Electric Scooter is designed to be compact, lightweight and easily transportable.

There is a red light on the rear wheel makes the scooter visible on the road at night. A white LED light under the steering wheel allows you to move safely during the early morning and late at night. A small round LCD displays speed, distance, battery level, and other information on the steering wheel. You can view this information on your smartphone. A disc brake handle is on the left side of the steering wheel. The power, settings, and speed control buttons are on the right side.

A mighty 350 W motor powers this scooter. It provides a maximum speed of up to 25 km per hour. The scooter is designed to withstand a maximum weight of no more than 120 kg. It is suitable for all adults. The scooter has 3-speed modes. The first one is the slowest, suitable for driving through crowded streets and rush hour.

The second mode is the average speed on less congested streets. The third mode enables you to move the device at full power. This speed limit is perfect for an open and empty road to avoid collisions. The tires are designed for paved streets and sidewalks and also suitable off-road. It can also go on a hill with a slope of up to 10 degrees. Triple disc brakes reduce the braking distance to 4 metres. You can drive the scooter at temperatures from.5 to 40 degrees Celsius.

The scooter comes with a large 5200 mAh battery. You can take it to 15 to 20 km on a single charge. The distance will depend on the user’s weight and the road the electric scooter is travelling on. The battery is protected from water and moisture according to the IP54 standard. You don’t have to worry about keeping the battery safe during rain or fog.

The kickstand on the scooter holds itt the perfect angle when not in use.

Ten-inch chamber pneumatic tires create a comfortable ride, even on bumpy surfaces.

With a generous turning radius, the scooter is also designed to prevent oversteering leading to accidents.

As soon as you activate the disc brakes, the rear purple LED indicator flashes, alerting anyone who may be following you. You start the light by double-clicking the control button on the purple accelerator. The entrance LED lights forward and down, properly illuminating the highway while driving. It additionally activates the purple rear soft light on the fender.

An LED display on the steering column offers information about speed, mode, and battery life. The 5-way battery level indicator works well and provides you with a wealth of knowledge to see if you should consider battery charging.

The Decent X7 Electric Scooter is well equipped for all road conditions, whether you use it for everyday commuting or weekend trips. These 10-inch (25.4 cm) air-filled tires promise a smooth ride on all types of urban terrain.

O-Zone: Decent gig

The Jaguars’ Stadium of the Future, for which the team introduced conceptual designs last week, will help the team in multiple ways. The first thing it will do is allow the Jaguars to stay in the NFL. The current version of TIAA Bank Field is outdated, antiquated and at the end of its useful life – and there realistically is a limit to how long the Jaguars can play there. NFL Owners must approve whatever replaces/upgrades it, and owners aren’t going to approve a new/upgraded stadium that doesn’t meet what is now considered standard for the country’s biggest professional sports league. As important are the two areas you mentioned in your email. There will be more opportunities for premium seating and more ability to attract sponsorship in an upgraded stadium. Both are key sources for local revenue, which is another area in which the Jaguars must at least keep pace with the rest of the NFL moving forward.

I haven’t heard much news about Smoot since seeing a training video that seemed to imply he is ahead of schedule on his recovery. Are the Jags still trying hard to retain him? I truly believe he would be a key part of our defense even if he had to miss a few games. Any updates would be appreciated.

Former Jaguars defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot currently remains unsigned as an unrestricted free agent because he’s rehabilitating a torn Achilles sustained last December. Jaguars outside linebacker Josh Allen and Smoot are close, and Allen said Monday that Smoot is doing very well physically. This lines up with the training video you cited, which was posted on social media in May. I would expect there’s a very good chance the Jaguars re-sign Smoot when he is 100 percent physically or close to it. It’s something both sides apparently want to happen, and something that would make sense considering Smoot’s situation and what he has meant to the organization.

Don’t you think Derrick Henry has a shot at the Hall of Fame? Seems he has been in conversation for best at the position for five years or so …

I discussed potential Hall of Fame running backs in a recent O-Zone answer. I didn’t mention Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry. That was a mistake on my part. Henry will be in the conversation for the Hall, though he might need another big season or two to make it.

Sal from Austin

I’m watching the ’96 playoff game in Denver on the NFL Network. How did the Jaguars go from the threatening jungle cat alpha predator on their helmet then to the house cat whose tail is getting stepped on that’s on there now?

One not fer the Jaguars’ current helmets, I guess.

Fred from Naples, FL

Not sure who was the idiot reporter who asked BOTH Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson and Josh Allen if Josh Allen was being “punished” for deciding not to attend a “non-mandatory” minicamp. Does he really think that is Doug Pederson’s style? Just when you think the level of journalism grows along with our teams’ performance someone gives you a reason to think … “Oh well; perhaps not.”

This was indeed a topic when Allen spoke with reporters Monday at the Jaguars’ mandatory minicamp at TIAA Bank Field. We’ve discussed the importance of being nice a lot here in the O-Zone lately. This readers’ question was not nice, though I do not think in any way that Pederson was “punishing” Allen by having him attend a mandatory minicamp.

Hello, John. I totally agree with Scooter from St. Augustine. Hopefully a new and substantial parking deck will be a part of the plan. Attached or detached, but close. Over the years the availability of parking near the stadium has slowly but steadily been reduced. Generating more parking, closer to the new stadium, will definitely impact ticket sales for the better.

Cue all of the “bring back James Robinson” Комментарии и мнения владельцев and questions.

The New England Patriots released former Jaguars running back James Robinson Monday. I do not expect the Jaguars to re-sign Robinson.

Sean from Jacksonville

importantly, will there be Sbarro pizza at the rebuilt stadium?

Nothing ever happens to make me happy. Why would that change now?

T.C Jags Fan from San Marco, FL

Hey O. When James Robinson was here, any words about him being a head case or problem in the locker room? I ask because he was a stud his rookie year, played hard, was not a DIVA, seemed like a good team player, and then traded to New York JETS. They cut him, and now Patriots are done with him, too. He must be broken somehow, yet I have not heard a peep out of the local media??

Robinson was a very good player for a bad Jaguars team as a rookie in 2020. He was not a head case or a problem or a diva. He sustained a torn Achilles late in his second season. He never was a dazzling player in terms of prototypical size and speed. Now he is a player without those traits who has had a torn Achilles. This is a tough league.

Pete from Daytona Beach, FL

Dear Funk, what are the chances the Jaguars will play at Daytona International Speedway while renovations are going on and what year do you think they’d start playing here. I live a few miles from the speedway and that would be pretty cool.

Jaguars President Mark Lamping mentioned this as a possibility last week when discussing options for playing away from Jacksonville while the stadium is upgraded. He said discussions about using the speedway had indeed occurred. My impression was that this was the third-most likely option behind Florida Field in Gainesville and Camping World Stadium in Orlando. The discussed target year for serious construction to begin on upgrading the stadium is 2026, which is when the team would begin playing Jacksonville home games away from the city. There’s a long way to go on this. Nothing has been remotely finalized.

CaptBob from Jax

I’m going to keep hammering. If the Jags have 12 million in cap space and at least five good edge rushers available, why not do it? Wouldn’t the defense be better with one of them versus not?!

I’ll keep answering. The Jaguars are aware of the edge rushers available. I feel confident they have had conversations with the representation of those player(s). The Jaguars don’t feel this is as much of a crisis as many observers seem to feel. One reason is they have young players and veterans they like at the position. Another is that the asking of the players doesn’t yet fit what the Jaguars feel comfortable paying. Maybe those will meet. Maybe they won’t. Either way, there’s time for this to play out.

Don from Marshall, NC

Spend the money on Hodges it stays in the community. Besides you could make it pretty fun and pretty cool. The rendering of the new stadium is a little disco. We need to finish this stadium off right and close the deal with a Super Bowl! Go Jaguars!

Don is all in on Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida and apparently not all in on disco.

Rob from Vancouver, BC, Canada

If (and yes, it’s a BIG “if”) quarterback Nathan Rourke outperforms C.J. Beathard in camp and preseason, does he get a legit shot at the No. 2 spot on the depth chart? Or is he going to be holding a clipboard this year no matter what?

Rourke, who signed as an unrestricted free agent this offseason, certainly could be the backup quarterback. It’s more likely he’s the third quarterback because the Jaguars trust Beathard’s experience – which is why they signed him in 2021 and why they re-signed him this past offseason.

Brian from Gainesville, FL

Big O, you regularly minimize the overall importance of sacks with respect to Travon Walker by saying that such statistics are often overly focused on by fans. But it’s true that when front-line pass rushers prove to be disruptive in the manner expected of guys taken early in the draft, they also tend to have high numbers of sacks. Guys like Michael Strahan and Calais Campbell were really disruptive. And it showed in their sacks numbers.

Jimsure from DBS

Love the columns and read them daily. I must say I feel sorry for you because unfortunately you will be answering questions and Комментарии и мнения владельцев about the stadium for ever. Good luck.

Don’t cry for me. I write about football, football stadiums and other things football-related. I occasionally make a jackass comment that amuses me. I’m not mining coal or roofing in July.
