Received my A5 in just 3 days after ordering, amazing! The bike was delivered in a well protecting huge cardboard box.Installation was a breeze. After charging the battery it was time for a little testdrive. I was struck by the stability of driving with the tiny 14″ wheels. The power of the hub motor also surprised me, cruising at 22 km/h. with my weight(120kg), little climbs or uneven surfaces, all no problem. The built quality is very good, nice welding and paintwork, quality components. The comfort of driving with front suspension, seatpost and super comfy thick saddle is also far above expectation. The bike is very complete fitted, good lighting frontrear, horn, security and i even discovered great brake lights triggered by both l/r handles. The braking power is great too. And best of all it folds easily and fits perfect in the trunk of my car (without the need of adjusting the saddle) Ready for some nice city rides! Very happy with the choice for this bike!

I purchased the A5 because we have another DYU mini bike purchased 6 years ago that has only needed a battery replacement and has 900km on it. HOWEVER after only 20km and 3 rides the cheap bad quality plastic base mount plate under the battery is now cracked, brittle, and falling apart (see photos). I thought surely that this would be covered by the warranty but after several requests, I have been repeatedly denied and the part is not easily obtainable. I had to put sticky furniture rubber pads under the battery to afford some cushioning underneath because I have no other recourse. I looked online for the part and did not find it, nor did DYU offer to sell it to me. I will not be giving DYU my business again. Also, the metal shaft that the battery slides down on was not filed or smoothed down and had razor-sharp edges, which I filed down with my jeweler’s metal files. It was dangerously sharp. Fresh machined edges with no finishing.

Quality and price!! Recently purchased. my birthday present 16 august. Quality correct price, it is comfortable for now the electric mode works well. I’m testing the battery, it seems good, I have to keep testing, it’s the most important thing about the bike. “The instruction manual would improve it. There is a button that I do not understand” The packaging lacks protection and a stronger box, although the bike is fine.

How far can Qualisports bikes go on a single charge?
Distance differs on the terrain, weight of the cyclist, and the power mode you are using (pedal only, full Throttle, or pedal assist).
The typical range on Beluga is 20 to 45 miles on a single charge using primarily electric power. If you use the PAS, mileage can increase. Some riders can achieve over 45 miles when cycling in pedal-assist mode.
How to turn on/off the front headlight?Turn on the LCD display, hold the display’s UP button for 2-3 seconds, the headlight/LCD display background light will both be turned on. Hold the power button the same way to turn it off.
Is the bike pre-assembled?95% of the bikes are pre-assembled, with detailed installation videos for the front and rear fenders.

By Eilis Barrett Danish company MATE aims to make electric bikes that look good and are affordable. the City is the lighter, more nimble model compared to the fat-tyred MATE X. Overall it’s an excellent bike, and we’ve recommended it in our list of the best folding electric bikes.
Expert verdict
The MATE City is a solid choice. it sets the tone for how an ebike can be more than just a bulky bit of machinery with a huge battery slapped on.
This folding model offers style, comfort and functionality at a reasonable price (the retail price on the City is £2,000, though it can be found much cheaper through certain retailers). And it’s a very nippy ride that’s easy to ride in the city when you need to react quickly to road obstacles and other vehicles.
The main compromise is that it’s a little on the heavier side at 20kg and not as compact as other folding bikes such as a Brompton. But then again, it’s a fraction of the price.
The weight is partly due to the full suspension front and rear. which did mean I enjoyed switching from city streets to off-road trail fluidly and comfortably.
Still, it’s worth knowing it’s foldable more for storage than for prolonged carrying. That aside, this is one of the best foldable ebikes we’ve tested.

The MATE City In detail
Power and ride
This bike is nimble and great for nipping around any obstacles. Comparing the City to other ebikes of its calibre like, say a GoCycle, the City more than holds its own. The addition of decent rear and front suspension actually makes this bike feel like a bargain. There’s a level of smoothing so you don’t clunk over bumps and dips which can get annoying very quickly.
As someone who cycles a lot, the ride on this bike elevates it from being an alright run around to something you can enjoy and take pleasure in riding.
In terms of range, it claims 50 miles and we managed to get 44 consistently, even with some hills and constantly using level 5 pedal assist.
Weight and folding
The MATE city weighs in at 22.5 kilograms- it’s carryable but I wouldn’t want to do so for too long. You could take this on a train but you might end up folding it once you’re on board ,which could be awkward.
Also it doesn’t fold down to the most compact size, and there’s no latch to hold it together when folded. Finally, the chain is on the outside of the fold so if you don’t want to get grease all over your outfit, be careful.
All in all, I’d say the folding is mostly for storage at work or home but you could definitely use it for occasional travel on public transport.
Build
Thanks to the easily adjustable seat, you can ride this if you’re anywhere from four foot eight and six foot, and with a weight of up to 120 kilograms. The 20-by-1.95-inch tyres are well matched for city roads. I prefer tyres this size to the 16-inch ones you often see on folding ebikes.
You now get hydraulic brakes as standard. The display shows battery and the five pedal assist levels and also has a handy USB charging port for your phone.
