Local Pick Up
iScoot offers a free Click Collect service for products that are in stock in your chosen store. Simply choose your product online, and you’ll see the option if your product is available for collection at your selected store.
Local Pick Up is available within a window of 24 to 48 hours. You will be notified via email and phone once your order is ready for collection. Applicable only if items are available from the chosen collection store. If not available and home-delivery is selected, the aforementioned delivery timeframes apply.
Click Collect orders need to be signed for at the store or location nominated upon checkout for pick-up. Simply use the email copy on your phone as a proof of purchase together with your photo identification and the credit or debit card used to purchase. It is not possible to authorise another person to collect your parcel. You will require photo identification in order to sign for and collect the parcel together with the proof of purchase.

Who is it Best For
Will the Razor Mod Be a Good Fit For You?
You probably already know the answer to this question if you have read the above section. The Razor Mod has been built for kids.
But, what I haven’t yet highlighted, is that the Mod is best for girls. It has been designed to give every young girl that has an eye for fashion, the perfect electric scooter.
Of course, you can also buy the Razor Mod for your son, it comes in a range of colors meaning you’ll be able to find the perfect one for your little one.
In brief, if you’re searching for an electric scooter that will deliver endless hours of fun you can’t go wrong with the Mod.
Design
Does the Razor Mod Look Good?
I think so. It’s completely different to what you would expect an electric scooter to look like but, that’s a good thing.
The vintage design is great for any child that has an eye for style and wants the hottest accessory on the block.
Don’t just take my word for it though, the retro design has been praised by Teen Vogue.
Also, the Mod is available in a range of colors including: black, white, purple, pink, red and blue. You can even get the sweet pea pink one with with decals, streamers, and a sporty bell if you’re daughter loves everything pink and you want to treat her to something extra special.
Speed
How Fast Can the Razor Mod Go?
Your child will be able to reach a top speed of 15 mph.
From my own experience, I would rate this as a being quite fast across the range of electric scooters on the market. specifically though, it is up there with the fastest electric scooters for kids. The only scooter that outperforms the Mod is the GoTrax Glider (16 mph).
Given it’s speed I would only recommend buying this scooter for kids that are 13 years and older. Unless, you would feel comfortable letting your child ride on it at a younger age. It’s totally up to you. Of course, the scooter is safe to ride so it comes down to personal preference.
What you should know though, is that your child is sure to have a great time riding the scooter as they get out into the fresh air and whizz around the block.
Mileage and Battery Performance
How Long Can You Ride the Razor Mod For?
The Mod is actually the only scooter that I have come across that uses two batteries to power its single speed, chain driven motor, and as a result of the battery power, it can be ridden for 10 miles on a full charge.
Just imagine how many times your child can go around the block!
Because of the impressive mileage, your child will be able to enjoy riding the scooter not just around the neighborhood but to the park, or the store, or pretty much anywhere within a 5 mile radius!
Weight and Weight Limit
How Much Does It Weigh and How Much Can It Support?
Looking at the Mod, you would assume that it’s going to be heavy. But, in actual fact, it only weighs 59 lbs.
Okay, okay – I hear you saying – ‘Only 59 lb, that’s still heavy!’.
Hear me out. Given the frame of the scooter and the stylish body work it could be a lot heavier than 59 lbs. For example, there are some scooters, like the Razor EcoSmart Metro, that weigh 67 lbs and don’t have any of the body work, or even features like suspension that the Mod has.
So, when you consider the weight of the scooter against its build it’s really not that bad.
Obviously, your child won’t be able to lift the scooter to maneuver it but they will be able to easily push it back and forth to point it in the direction that they want to go.
The steel frame will support riders up to 170 lbs.
Foldability and Portability
Is It Easy to Fold and Carry?
Because of its vintage and Italian body design, the Razor Mod can’t be folded.
Unlike some of the other electric scooters for kids, like the Razor E100 and E300, you won’t be able to fit this scooter in your trunk meaning it can only be used locally.
Also, the 59 lbs frame makes this scooter cumbersome to carry.
What I find with kids scooters is that, more often than not, they don’t need to be carried because they tend to be used just round the neighborhood or within a really close radius to their home. often, adults are the ones who need electric scooters that they can fold and carry because they use them for more practical uses like commuting.
Features and Durability
What Features Does it Have and is it Durable?
I’ve already covered some of the key features of the Razor Mod, from a top speed of 15 mph to a 10 mile range to the rear suspension for a smooth, comfortable, ride.
Here is a list of some of the features that make the Mod an excellent choice for kids:
- Hidden storage unit under seat – ideal for lunch boxes, toys, backpacks etc
- Retractable kickstand
- Big 12 inch, air filled, tires make riding the scooter smooth on uneven terrain
- Shatter-resistant body
- Easy to use acceleration throttle
- Brake on the handlebars
- Headlight for safe riding in low light
The scooter is extremely durable thanks to its steel frame and shatter resistant body. It will provide a stable ride and will withstand playful bumps and bashes. After all, we know kids can be a bit careless when playing with new toys!
Safety
How Safe Is It?
Because the Mod is an electric scooter for kids, Razor has ensured that the safety standards are high.
As you would expect from a kids electric scooter, it comes equipped with a hand operated brake on the handlebars which can be easily pulled to slow the scooter down to a safe stop.
Additionally, the extra precaution to make the body of the scooter shatter-resistant ensures that even if your child has a few bumps here and there they are not going to injure themselves as a result of the body work shattering.
Overall, I would say that the combination of the braking system, which by the way simultaneously cuts the motor when in use, and the safety precautions around the body of the scooter make the Mod a safe scooter to ride.
Of course, I would recommend buying a helmet and maybe some elbow or knee pads too.
Assembly
Does the Razor Mod Require Assembly?
The short answer is yes, but it is easy to do and will only take you about 15-20 minutes.
You’ll receive the scooter 95% assembled, meaning you’ll just need to add the finishing touches.
Essentially, there are 5 things that you’ll need to do:
- Attach the handlebars
- Position the brake lever
- Attach the front wheel
- Check the spoke tension of the wheels
- Inflate the tires
You’ll get an owners manual in your package which shows you how to do all of the above. Oh, and you get the tools to do steps 1 to 4. You’ll just need to make sure that you have a standard bicycle pump for step 5.
Pricing and Value For Money
How Much Does the Razor Mod Cost and Is It Worth it?
Generally, you can expect to pay between 350 to 400 for the Mod. However, Overstock, one of Razor’s online retail partners, often sells them at a discounted rate so you can pick one up for about 275 to 349.
The range in price is down to the different colors available. The more popular colors tend to be more expensive.
As I have said previously, the Mod is a great choice for kids, especially girls looking for an electric scooter that matches their eye for style, but if you don’t want to stretch to the price of this scooter then you should see my list of cheapest electric scooters for kids.

Razor Mod vs Mod Petite Comparison
In this article, we compare the Razor Mod vs Mod Petite electric scooters. Both models are primarily aimed at girls – Razor describe them as “ideal for any stylish rider with a sharp eye for fashion”.
But they are suitable for boys too. The Mod Petite is a soft blue color which is quite gender neutral while the Mod comes in a range of colors – a black ‘Vapor’ version for boys and some pretty options like hot pink and dusky purple for girls.
Both Mod models share the same stylish Euro-style scooter design but they target very different age groups. Let’s take a look at how they match up!

Razor Mod vs Mod Petite – Quick Comparison
The Mod was our top choice for best Electric Scooter for girls (or boys, depending on the color) when we reviewed the best electric dirt bikes for kids and teens recently.
In the table below we’ve summarized the main features of each scooter in a side by side comparison, to make it easy to see the differences between them.
Note on Ages: Razor’s recommended age for the Mod is a very conservative 13 but an age range of 7-13 (real world guide from many buyers) with parental supervision may be more suitable. Because it is quite small – the seat height is at least foot lower than a regular, adult size scooter.
Similarly, Razor’s recommended age for the Mod Petite is 7 which is also conservative. An age range of 5-10 (real world guide from many buyers) with parental supervision may be more suitable. Because it is even smaller than the regular Mod and has a much lower top speed that makes it suitable for younger kids.

Main Differences
The biggest differences between both versions of the Mod are the top speed and the size/age of rider that each was designed for.
The Razor Mod is the big sister of the Mod Petite – it has a 20% larger frame, higher seat, bigger wheels and weighs almost twice as much (59 lbs vs 32 lbs). The Mod supports a heavier rider (170 lbs vs 110 lbs) so is more suitable for older kids and young teens whereas the Mod Petite is aimed at ages 5-10.
Thanks to a more powerful motor (350W vs 100W) and extra battery (24V vs 12V) the Mod has a much higher top speed (15 mph vs 8 mph). It is also available in 5 colors (including a black version for boys) whereas the Mod Petite only comes in a gender neutral light blue (cyan).

Advantages of Razor Mod
The larger Mod enjoys many advantages compared to its little sister:
- Specific color options for girls or boys. Each color has a different name on the rear side panels: Black – Vapor, Teal – Chrissy, Crimson – Kiki, Purple – Betty, Pink – Sweet Pea (includes a bell and pink streamers as shown above)
- powerful motor provides a higher top speed (15 mph vs 8 mph) and faster acceleration
- Higher maximum load than the Petite (170 lbs vs 110 lbs) so it can cope with the weight of older kids
- Large storage compartment hidden under the padded seat
- Available in 5 colors (only 1 color option for the Mod Petite)
Advantages of Razor Mod Petite
The Razor Mod Petite is the newest electric ride in the company’s extensive range – it was launched in August 2020 and is aimed at younger kids and beginners.
Being the smaller scooter gives it some advantages over the Mod:
- MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) is 60 cheaper than the Mod
- The smaller frame and 45% lighter weight makes it easier for very young kids to handle and it requires less storage space
- Top speed of just 8 mph makes it safer for little ones
- Battery recharge time is 50% less than the Mod (6 hours vs 12 hours)
- One gender neutral color
Pros of Both Scooters
Here is a summary of what we love about both models:
- Cute Euro-style, similar design to a classic Vespa scooter
- Specifically designed for young children with user friendly controls
- Quick enough to give kids a thrill but slow enough (especially the Mod Petite) to minimize risk of a high speed crash
- Rubber pneumatic tires are ideal for hard flat surfaces like concrete, streets and dry grass
- Steel frame with authentic Euro-style design
- No pollution, quieter and require much less servicing than a gas powered scooter or bike
- Razor is a long established US manufacturer – spare or replacement parts are readily available from their website
Cons of Both Scooters
Here is a summary of what we don’t like so much about both models. But most of these issues are common to all electric scooters in this price range:
- Relatively short battery life – but still enough to cover 10 miles ( Mod) or 5 miles ( Mod Petite)
- Battery full recharge time is 12 hours ( Mod) or 6 hours ( Mod Petite) so charging needs to be planned (or you could buy spare batteries to switch over instantly)
- Street tires don’t provide much traction off-road compared to an electric dirt bike
- Helmet and protective clothing may be uncomfortable in hot weather (see our Electric Bike Buying Guide for recommended safety gear)
- Must be stored in a dry area, due to the electrical components
- Batteries must not be stored in temperatures below freezing and should be recharged at least once a month
Conclusion
Both these Razor Mods can be a good choice for young kids, especially girls who may prefer the stylish scooter design over the more common electric dirt bikes.
So which model is best? The smaller frame and lighter weight make the Razor Mod Petite a safer option for very young kids, especially those who are new to electric rides. However, we do worry that kids may grow out of it too quickly, due to its small size and slow speed…
Therefore we think the Razor Mod is the best choice for most young ones, if they’re large enough to handle the extra weight and power. The bigger frame, 170 lbs weight limit and much higher top speed make it awesome value – it should last fast growing kids a few years longer than the Petite.
