In general, the speed is between 15 and 28 miles an hour. The fastest (and most powerful) electric bike on Costco, the RBSM Sports Mud-adder, has a top speed of 28mph.
The only e-bikes we found on their website with warranty information included in their descriptions come from the same manufacturer; Jetson (the Jetson Bolt Pro and the Jetson Adventure). This doesn’t mean that Costco does not offer warranties on other electric bikes listed on its website.
We visited Jetson’s official website and found that even the manufacturer offers the same warranty on both bikes — a 1-year limited warranty. So, whether or not an e-bike’s specifications includes information about its warranty period, it is safe to assume that the manufacturer’s warranty applies here.
Plus, Costco hasn’t included e-bikes among electronics that need to be returned within 90 days of their purchase, which in a way means customers might have to contact the manufacturer of an e-bike for warranty assistance.
Just for extra clarity on the subject, you can reach out to their customer support team. They should be able to give you more information on the company’s warranty policies.
Jetson Mini Bike – Specs and Review
Jetson Bolt is a mini bike-like electric ride that is way more functional than it looks. It is very small, so it is not a great option for everyone, but it can still take an adult person around town at a decent speed.

Motor Power and Speed
The hefty motor is rated at 250W, and it is pretty torquey, which in combination with small wheels means that this little scooter bike can pick up the speed pretty quickly. There is no drivetrain on this bike, it doesn’t have pedals, a chain or cassette, just twist the throttle and go. The top speed is 15mph, and a cruise control function will save you from having to hold the throttle all the time.
There used to be a setting in the Jetson app that allowed you to set the top speed at 18mph, but it seems to have vanished, right after the release of the successor of the Jetson Bolt, the Bolt PRO.
While it performs decent on flat ground, it does struggle on an incline. If you are not over 200lbs you will be able to climb up a 15 degree incline on a full charge, but it will be at a snail’s pace.
Battery and Range
Equipped with the 36V 5,2Ah battery, Jetson Bolt has a range of 15 miles, which is a travel distance you would expect from a budget electric scooter. It doesn’t sound like much, but it is enough for urban environments.
Battery, together with all electronics, is nicely tucked away in a box that is integrated into the frame. This protects all the important components from the elements, but also makes them fairly easily accessible in case you need to replace the battery.
Design and Build
Jetson Bolt has an interesting design, simple and streamlined, but with few practical details. One of them is the way the frame and battery case are made to form a convenient handle that allows you to easily pick up the bike, or through which you can feed a chain and lock. The frame is made of aluminum, so it is a lightweight bike, with all components put together very well. Nothing on this bike feels cheap or like it’s going to fall off. Seat and handlebar are adjustable, foot pegs instead of the pedals allow you to pretty comfortably place your feet while cruising around.
Kickstand, which is a pain point at many way more expensive bikes, on the Bolt is made very well. It is positioned perfectly and feels quite stable even when parked outdoors.
Folding
While this bike is marketed as a folding bike, it does not collapse or fold in half like many other folding electric bikes. The only thing that folds down is the handlebar stem. You can also remove the seat post if you want to make it more compact, but being as small as it is, it can fit the trunk or backseat of almost any car, even without folding down. Dimensions of a folded Bolt are 20″ x 40″ x 28″.
Wheels and Brakes
The wheels are on a small side, being only 12”, but it is the thing that helps this little bike go faster. There is one disc brake, mounted on the rear wheel, which provides enough stopping power, but you’ll have to be careful not to powerslide when you brake hard. Or do powerslide, if that’s your thing.
Accessories
One of the best thing about Jetson Bolt are all the accessories included in the price. First, there is that awesome kickstand we mentioned earlier. Next there are splash guards in front and rear, a bit flimsy, but still doing their job. There is also a horn, sometimes a bell, depending where you get it from. But best of all, there is a built-in, very bright, LED headlight, as well as brake light in the rear.
There is also an app that connects to the Bolt via Bluetooth, but there is a lot about it that should be improved. It doesn’t seem to work on lot of devices, and the function to increase the max speed to 18mph has been removed.
Riding Experience
The first thing you notice is how high the center of gravity is on this bike, which in combination with small wheels and short wheelbase may make you feel unstable. Once you get used to it, you’ll have so much fun riding this little thingy. It is fast and snappy, you will have no problem keeping up with other bikes. The seat is not uncomfortable, but replacing it with a more padded, softer bike seat will make a real difference over bumps, as Jetson Bolt has no suspension.
Is Jetson Bolt an electric bike?
Is bicycle without pedal really a bicycle? Yes, just like those balance bikes that kids use to learn how to ride a bike. They have a frame, fork, handlebars, wheels, but no drivetrain. Electric pedal-less bikes do not have pedal assist, only throttle.
Does this kind of electric balance bike classify as an electric bike? Laws vary state-to-state, and motorized vehicle without pedals might not be allowed in some places. The best thing would be to check with the local authorities.
Jetson Bolt vs Jetson Bolt PRO
If you like Jetson Bolt, you’ll love the PRO version. This one comes with bigger wheels, more powerful motor and pedals. Powered by 350W, Bolt Pro can reach the top speed of 15.5mph. It also has slightly bigger battery rated at 6Ah, which keeps the throttle-only max range 15 miles, but thanks to the pedals, the maximum travelling distance extends to 30 miles.
Jetson Bolt PRO has 14” wheels and dual disc brakes. The frame is extended in order to accommodate larger wheels, so the dimension are 47” x 20” x 39”. The PRO version is, of course, more expensive, but it is well-worth the price.
Jetson Bolt vs. Ancheer Mini eBike
Both of these two are the rebranded versions of the Chinese F-Wheel DYU D1, so it makes sense they look so similar. Still, there are few differences. The Ancheer Mini Bike has a more powerful motor rated at 350W. The battery is also slightly larger, with 48V voltage, 6Ah capacity versus the 36V 5.2 Ah on the Bolt. This has no significant impact on the max speed and range though, the Ancheer’s top speed is 15mph, and the maximum range is 15 miles.
The Ancheer Mini bike also has dual disc brakes on both front and rear wheel. This is a real advantage, as having a disc brake only on the rear wheel is not the best solution. This also mean that Ancheer is also a bit more expensive than Jetson.
Between the two, we would go with Ancheer, because of the dual disc brakes and better communication with customers.
