They both seem to have something to offer any rider looking for a quality electric bike that won’t break the bank. There are some differences between the two brands though and in this article, we’re going to break down where each of them excels and how they differ.
What Sets These Brands Apart?
Ecotric Electric Bikes
Ecotric produces some of the best selling fat tire bikes for under 1000 on the market today with their Fat Tire Beach Snow and Fat Tire Rocket leading the race for the 26” models. Both are 500 Watts fat tire bikes with study frames and enough power to move those larger tires and get you where you need to go over virtually any terrain. Both of those models come in at just under 1000 at the time of this article, making them some of the most affordable, quality electric bikes on the market today.
Ecotric also specializes in affordable city riding with their Vortex Electric City Bike. This model comes in around 700 and is the perfect budget commuter for around town. It’s sleek build and lightweight design make it a prime candidate for daily commutes and maximum efficiency.
The Leopard is perhaps our favorite Ecotric model to recommend to readers due to its high handlebars, making it very easy to ride over time, and its traditional mountain bike tires and front shocks which make riding a breeze and very comfortable. This model also features a 500W motor and comes in just under 1000.
Nakto Electric Bikes
Nakto took a slightly different approach to producing great electric bikes and chose to FOCUS on the cruiser models, which have consistently been their best sellers. They have a city cruiser for nearly every rider size, height, desired frame design and power rating. For example, the Nakto City Cargo Pony is designed for smaller riders with it’s 20” tires and smaller frame size. Nakto also makes the Elegance, which features 22” tires, a small step up in size from the Pony. To top off their line of city cruisers, they make the City Camel, The Stroller and the Classic which are all 26” models that offer great functionality with baskets, cargo racks, fenders and other options to get the most out of your city cruiser. All of these bikes come in at less than 850 and can run even lower than that depending on the model selected.
Nakto does more than simply make city cruisers though, as they have a lineup of fat tire bikes as well, such as the Fat Tire Super Cruiser, Regular Cruiser and Discovery, all in 26” x 4” tire sizes. These bikes really shine in the sand, snow and off road terrains with their larger tire sizes and come in right at that 1000 price point mark as well, keeping them very affordable for the quality of bike you’re getting.
In addition the the aforementioned Nakto e-bikes, they also offer a wide variety of folding 20” and 22” models with both fat tire options and regular tire options which can be more suitable for those who don’t have much storage space for a bike or want to transport the bike in the trunk of their car.

Ok, I am a first time e-bike owner and was recomended to look at ecotric by a friend. I recently wrecked my car and needed immediate transportation for work. Every ECOTRIC electric bicycle purchased on our website comes with an 18 months warranty ( In the period of 18 months from purchase by Official Authorized Store) against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship on its frame, battery, motor, controller, and display.
This warranty applies only to the original buyer of the ECOTRIC bicycle and is not transferable under any circumstances.The original buyer refers to the buyer who can provide the order number.
This limited warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, malfunctions, or failures due to abuse, neglect, improper repair, improper maintenance, alteration, modification, damage or failure due to accident or other improper use, installation of third party components, parts, or accessories, or any products that have been modified from manufacturer’s specifications.The battery warranty does not include damage from power surges, use of improper charger, improper maintenance or other such misuse, normal wear or water damage.

Frame – are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for 18 months from purchase by Official Authorized Store. Paint finish is considered consumable and is not part of the warranty.2. Display, Controller and Motor Assembly – are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of 18 months from purchase.3. Original Batteries – are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of 18 months from the date of purchase as follows: full replacement during the first 12 months, while replacements needed during months 13-18 are prorated as per this schedule.
The battery is sealed and cannot be opened or fixed. The battery should not have a percentage of nominal charge retention of 60% or less. Misuse of the battery, negligence or attempt to open or repair it will void the warranty. 4. General: The bicycle is backed up by a 18 months main warranty, certain components listed on this chart or consumables may be subject to a different period of coverage or not included in this warranty.

If the warranty is void for any reason the customer shall bear any repair or replacement costs resulting from vehicle misuse, negligence or abuse. The warranty will be voided by any of the following circumstances:
- Failure to follow all directions or recommendations listed in the user manual.
- Cycling collision, accident or vehicle damage caused by careless parking
- Acts in violation of laws
- Never registered your ebike or cannot provide the order number
- DIY repairs on electronics
- Abusive use the bicycle in off-road terrain, mud, snow, water, sand, gravel and water

- Rust and/or paint fading caused to heavy exposure to rain, hail, snow or direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.
- Overloading beyond recommended capacity.
- Damages caused by nails, needles, broken glass. debris. sharp rocks or other foreign objects.
- If the bicycle is used but not limited to stunts, jumping from ramps, stairs or elevated ramps.
- If vehicle is used in competitions or racing.
- If vehicle has been modified for any purposes on the motor, electrical system, suspension frame, and battery.
- Use of other components not approved by the manufacturer.
- Damages resulted from improper care and handling.
Return Policy
At Ecotric, we aim to provide every single customer with the perfect product at the best price, as well as the greatest shopping experience, we offer the industry’s first 30-Day At-Home Trial policy. This allows you to try the bike at home for 30 days and if you are not happy with your new Ecotric bike, you can return it for an exchange or a refund within 30 days after receiving the bike! Returns or exchanges are only allowed once within 30 natural days of receiving the purchased ebike. If the return claim is valid the customer will receive a refund for the amount of the purchase price minus a repacking and restocking fee of 20% of original price. If you exchange ebikes, we also need to charge 20% restocking fee of original price.

How to return
Contact our Customer Service Department at service@ecotric.com to approve the return within 30 days. We have helpful suggestions if you are considering a return due to performance of the item, sizing, or for any other reason. Please keep in mind that an exchange for an Ecotric product better suited to your needs is also possible. After the 30-day period expires, the product cannot be returned to Ecotric. Once your return is received, we will process refund within 2-3 weeks. Your refund will be credited back to your original method of payment. The bike is powered by a 500W rear hub motor and can reach a 20mph speed. The motor works great and can power the bike through some rough terrain like sand, muddy grass, rocky areas quite easily.

Ecotric Fat Tire Electric Bike vs Engwe EP-2 Pro
As you can see from the image above, the look of the two is very similar. However, if we take a closer look at the components, these two are quite different.
Commonalities
Ecotric and Engwe both have the same Shimano Tourney gearing system. Also, the braking system is the same.
Differences
Firstly, one of the main advantages of Ecotric is its lighter weight. So, if you need to carry the bike often upstairs, Ecotric would be a smarter choice.
However, Engwe seems to beat Ecotric in all other categories. It has a more powerful motor and a bigger battery. So the top speed and range are also better.
Ecotric bike has a rigid fork, while Engwe has a suspension. Both have wide tires but when riding on bumpy roads, a suspension is a needed feature.
Ecotric Folding Bike vs Lectric XP 2.0
Both bikes have equally powerful motors of 500 watts. Also, the battery size is almost the same.
We noticed that Lectric promises up to 45 miles of range. At the same time, Ecotric has only 20 miles of range. The difference is definitely not so big. Range may vary based on different conditions. Factories usually make their range tests in ideal conditions and in real life, it’s almost impossible to get the same result.
Ecotric Folding Electric Bike Review Conclusions
The Ecotric electric bike is a hybrid that can be powered using the pedals, motor, or both. It’s quite powerful, provides a great riding experience, and can climb steep inclines quite easily.
It also has a good range and speed. While the tires aren’t perfect for everybody they are great at acting as shock absorbers since they don’t have front shocks.
