The bike’s look is always subjective; everyone has their preferences, but if you are looking for stylish and trendy models. ENVO ST or Aventon Level 2 would be an excellent choice. Both of the bikes have sleek designs with different colour options available. These e-bikes will also provide you with an upright position. the first choice for people who prefer cruiser-style riding. When riding an ENVO bike, you will also feel full suspension, as the bike comes with both front and seatpost suspension integrated into the frame. For the longer upright rides, you might feel all the bumps and rough terrains through your back and less pressure on the wrists. Aventon Level 2 has only a front suspension, so if you want to get the same soft feeling as riding ENVO ST, you will need to make some upgrades.

Picking the frame design, consider the battery pack style. If you are the rider who prefers the practical part. Bikes ST and Level 2 have full-colour displays with all the necessary functions and metrics to control all the electrical components. Both are super user-friendly and easy to operate. Envo’s bike display gives you access to parameter settings, monitoring, visualization, and even self-diagnostics functions of the cycle. Aventura shows speed; distance travelled, and pedal assist. You can also activate integrated lights and sync to the Aventon app to share your rides with your friends and the Aventon community.


ENVO ST bikes come with almost all of their brand’s components, making it easier to do professional maintenance on them and replace parts if needed. The Level 2 combined non-brand brakes, motor and drivetrain but still used decent and trustworthy components. ST is getting more points because it has an adjustable stem for better comfort and versatility. The similarities are hydraulic disc brakes and eight mechanical gears in both bikes. So if you are still wondering if it is possible to ride it like a regular bike, the answer is yes.

The weight of the electric bike plays a huge role in the performance and the distance the bike can handle on a single charge. With a lighter bike, it is also easier to maneuver and you can add more accessories and not be worried that it will be too heavy after upgrades.


Price wise and quality-wise, all the bike’s components are similar, which makes parts easy to find on the shelves. ENVO’s modular design also makes it simpler to replace them. With some practice and patience, you can learn how to do simple adjustments yourself, but we still recommend leaning on e-bike professionals until you are confident there won’t be any “extra parts” after these operations. Purchasing an e-bike from ENVO or Aventon, you will also get a charger and a manual (I strongly recommend reading it before going for the first ride). In the manual, you will find many excellent features about pedal and throttle assist; it also can’t harm knowing more about all the settings of the display and charging rules. hint: you need to balance lithium-Ion batteries before using and repeat from time to time the procedure.


If you plan to travel with ST or Level 2, consider getting a car rack designed specifically for electric bikes. Due to the limited weight capacity of many of them, it is essential to know the rack specifications on which you are mounting your bike. If you already have one for your regular cycle, wondering how much it can carry. think twice before risking putting your e-bike on that rack. We recommend doing read reviews, considering the weight of the battery you can take off the bike, the weight of the motor that will make the rear wheel heavier and the overall design.

ST is not as heavy as Level 2 and comes with narrower tires, so finding a rack will be easier. You must also get a bike adaptor bar if that’s a press-on rack. Installation is easy, one hook goes around the stem, and another around the Seatpost, imitating the high-step frame. Warning. don’t use bars like this to hang the bike on a rack.


ENVO and Aventon ST have geared hub motor in the rear wheel, which are reliable and well-sealed. They will give you good power and response; you can count on them for up to 7 years of use. Ride as much as you can! On the downside. this type of motor is a bit noisy compared to, for example, a direct drive motor.

Many bike riders prefer a geared hub to the mid-drives because if something happens to the drivetrain, you can still ride a bike with a rear hub motor, relying on a throttle. Aventon Aventure 2 Review – A Sweet Upgrade to their Fat Tire Ebike

Aventon just released their Aventure 2 (and Aventon Aventure 2 Step Through) at only 1,899! The original Aventon Aventure launched in 2021 and made a big splash in the competitive field of fat tire ebikes. It is well known for its clean look and integrated lights.

The Aventon Aventure 2 is selling for less than its predecessor with some serious upgrades. The new features provide a more natural pedaling experience, increased utility, and better safety features.

Aventon Aventure Video Review

The biggest change in the Aventure 2 is that it has a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor. This is great if you are looking for a more natural-feeling ride. The more effort you put into pedaling, the more assistance you will get from the bike. A cadence sensor in comparison simply acts as an on/off switch with the motor giving you the same power as long as your legs are spinning.

While the pedal assist sensor changed, the motor and battery are the same as the original Aventure. The motor is a 48V and 750-watt nominal brushless hub motor. Peak output is 1,130 watts. The battery is a 48V, 15 Ah (720 watt-hours) battery housed in the Aventure’s downtube for a clean look. Aventon is known for their realistic range estimates and states a range of up to 60 miles in “eco” pedal assist on a single charge! This is over a 30% increase compared to the original due to increased efficiency with the torque sensor. Throttle only range is 30 miles with a 165 lb rider.

This fat tire ebike is shipped as a Class 2 ebike with a 20 mph max speed using pedal-assist or throttle. But it has the potential to be a Class 3 ebike. To make the adjustments you will need to go into the advanced settings by connecting the bike to your phone and changing the top speed. Once the settings are changed, the top speed is 28 miles per hour. Around 20 mph is easy to achieve even with a leisurely cadence though with the torque sensor the rider does need to put in more effort to reach 28 mph. Regardless of the top speed setting, the throttle only top speed on the Aventure 2 is 20 mph with the left-hand thumb throttle.

Aventon Aventure 2 Display

Aventon stayed with the same screen, the BC280-colored LCD display. It provides all the essential information you would expect including battery remaining, speed, odometer, and pedal assist level. One thing they changed was the name of their pedal assists.

They used to have 5 levels of pedal assist whereas now they use Eco, Tour, Sport, and Turbo modes. The app provides all the information you get on the screen as well as makes it easier to get into the advanced settings. It has a “social” feature that helps you find other Aventon riders, lets you track your riders and even includes a gamification aspect providing “medals” after a certain amount of miles are ridden.

One final piece of information on the display is “sum trees saved” which provides a potential number of trees that were saved when you chose to ride your ebike instead of driving. While this is a bit gimmicky, they did put some real effort into making their packaging more sustainable. Compared to other ebikes, and the prior packaging, the Aventon Aventure 2 has very minimal plastic used in its packing. Nearly all the shipping material is recyclable. Aventure 2 Components

The Aventon Aventure 2 has Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors. While the original Aventure used Zoom-branded brakes, the Aventure 2 uses Tektro HD-E350 hydraulic disc brakes. This should be considered either a small upgrade or a lateral shift depending on personal preference.

The drivetrain is an 8-speed Shimano Altus with 12-32T gearing in the rear. The crankset is 170 mm with a 48 tooth front chainring. Shimano components were also used in the original Aventure. There has been a minimal downgrade with the use of the Altus rear derailleur compared to Acera. but overall performance is similar and the shifting difference is indistinguishable between the two. Aventon continues to utilize a trigger shifter in the cockpit which is a higher-quality component than we often see from other brands.

For tires, the Aventon Aventure 2 has 26″ x 4″ tires. They are a different brand than the original but have a similar tread pattern and are still puncture resistant. The Aventure has metal front and rear fenders and now included is the rear rack. It was also redesigned and fits more naturally onto the rear wheel. Aventon plans to release custom accessories made to fit the Aventure 2 rear rack.

The Aventure 2 includes not only the integrated front and rear lights, well placed in the rear stays, but also rear turn signals. Whether having turn signals is an advantage or not probably depends on your riding style and riding environment but it never hurts to have the option.

Aventon Aventure 2 Frame Options

The Aventure 2 comes in both a traditional frame as well as a step-through. Overall it is very similar to the original Aventure. The main change is that whereas before the traditional frame was offered in three sizes, now both traditional and step-through frames are offered in two sizes.

The traditional frames fit a slighter taller crowd (regular from 5’3″ to 5’10” and large from 5’10” to 6’4″) and are offered in camouflage and slate.

The step-through fits a slightly shorter crowd (regular from 4’11” to 5’7″ and large from 5’7-6’1″) and comes in the colors midnight or cobalt. The standover height for the step-through frame is only 19″. The total weight of the bike is around 77 lbs with a weight capacity of 400 lbs.

Just as in the original, the Aventure 2 is a sleek-looking bike. The welds are smooth offering a premium feel. Another nice touch is the battery is integrated and is removed from the side rather than the bottom. This makes it easier to get the battery in and out.

The Aventon Aventure 2 fat tire ebike builds upon its popular predecessor. Aventon Aventure.2 Review: Will This Electric Bike Go Anywhere?

The Aventon Aventure.2 is eye-catching in many ways and goes beyond what is expected of a typical pedelec even on the data sheet. Additionally, it is not yet in the elite league at a cost of 1899. Discover the capabilities and applications of the Aventure.2 in this test report.

The delivery of the e-bike was handled carefully, and it arrived undamaged. But it is preferable to hire a second person to help when unloading. Due to the Aventure.2’s incredible 34.9 kilogram weight, it is almost as much as some mopeds.


The Aventure.2 is simply pre-assembled, as is customary with mail-order bikes. For the structure that is ready to drive, only the front wheel and the front light assembly are missing. It only takes a few easy steps to complete this, and in my case, the pre-charged battery makes it possible to test drive the large e-bike right away. Now let’s take a closer look at the bike and I will tell you about its assembly.

Aventon Aventure.2: Design and Build Quality

An electric bike that looks like snakeskin? To be quite honest, before delivery, I had some reservations regarding the design. I had some strange expectation that the bike would resemble one of those ugly carbon foils. Contrary to what I had anticipated, the unique pattern on the frame is really painted, printed, or applied in some other manner. This appears to be a nice design in any case. The Aventure.2 is likewise handled carefully and with additional considerations.

For instance, the frame is used to route several cables. Additionally, the enormous battery is elegantly fitted into the frame. The “mid-engine” is the first item that shocks people upon first glimpse. Considering that what appears to be a mid-engine is actually a dummy.

On closer inspection, this functionality makes sense, though. The fact that the control and controller are situated here has a practical advantage. I could also envision the design having useful motivations. After all, the sizable battery desires to remain secure within the frame. It definitely wouldn’t look nice to have a little bottom bracket there either. Thus, in my opinion, the dummy blends pretty nicely into the Aventure.2’s imposing form. Even if you have to first adjust to the concept of an e-bike with rear-wheel drive and a fake mid-motor.

Even though I’ve tested a lot of e-bikes, including some heavyweights, the Aventon performs significantly better than the Aventure.2 in my prior testing. The e-bike is comparable to my Hercules Prima GT moped that I owned when I was a teenager in terms of weight. In actuality, the Aventure.2 handles 35 kg of weight in a similar manner. Therefore, if you’re considering purchasing the Aventure.2, you should be aware that it rides more like a tiny moped than a bicycle, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Aventon Aventure.2: Motor and Battery

The Aventure.2 is as extravagant-looking in a good way as it is outfitted. A torque sensor that is more than suitably sized at 75 Nm is supplied to the rear-wheel drive by the enormous battery, which has a capacity of Wh. This is a statement, regardless of the advancement of dual-battery systems or even rechargeable batteries that are ever larger. Aventon aims to make sure that the Aventure.2 can travel 60 – 100 km even when carrying typical weights.

It’s also important to observe the complete suspension. I always appreciate hefty front suspension forks with lockouts and 80 mm of travel. Additionally, the bike’s rear suspension is made very robustly and is specifically optimized for usage as an all-road vehicle.

180 mm hydraulic disc brakes from Tektro guarantee effective deceleration under any circumstance. With an Altus rear derailleur, a 8-speed gear system offers the ideal gear ratio. Here again, the cheap shifter is the only thing that irritates me. In my opinion, that is completely inappropriate for a bike like this, especially one that is fully loaded. However, this does not take away from the function and a suitable shifter would be fine here.

The saddle is another thing I enjoy. The fairly broad saddle doesn’t really go with the appearance of the e-bike, so at first I was a little dubious, but in the end I found it to be quite pleasant. In this case, Aventon also uses Selle Royal-branded products.

The comparatively large and clear display with a remote unit is another something I think is pretty great. The Bosch Intuvia system was presumably used as a reference in terms of design because of some similarities.

The fat 26″ and 4″ wide tires are the subject of every photograph, so I probably don’t need to mention them. Even though these rollers are the largest e-bike tires I’ve ever seen, I’m still doing it.

Overall, the Aventon is well furnished and achieves a decent balance between cost and performance. The Aventon finally belongs to the Aventure.2 and no longer the affordable e-bikes with a price of 1899.

The moment you step on the Aventon Aventure.2, you can sense its uniqueness. This is due to the fact that this e-bike leans more toward the motocross and moped directions than any other. As soon as you pull the vehicle out of the garage or parking area, you become aware of that. I purposefully omitted mentioning the bicycle cellar in this instance. Don’t try to carry this component into the bicycle cellar because doing so will be helpful to both your back and yourself. It won’t function. Simply said, the bike is too large, too heavy, and it didn’t even fit under my bike cover.

The Aventure.2 provides a comparable experience and an almost heavenly feel when driving. There isn’t much of a bicycle remaining here, as has been remarked a few times. This truth, though, is not always a bad thing. That somehow makes the Aventure.2 really enjoyable. The Aventon SUV makes you grin when the old city bike frequently caused you to frown. Depending on the air pressure, the Aventure.2 shrugs off high curbs, ignores train tracks entirely, and hardly registers cobblestones.

Where traditional E-MTBs stop, the Aventure.2 continues in off-road conditions like mud or even snow. It’s a real SUV e-bike, in fact. It’s possible to debate the logic or absurdity of such a concept from a variety of angles. However, the Aventure.2 actually drives and feels exactly like an off-road vehicle. In some cases or for some applications, an off-road vehicle is also required. The Aventon Aventure.2 even makes me think of the HNF XF3, but with lower-quality hardware. The HNF model, however, costs five times as much money.

The drive has a sizable torque of 75 Nm and is essentially powerful enough. Additionally, the rear-wheel drive competently handles grades and difficult sections. Since the Aventure.2 amplifies the pedal movements appropriately, at first I assumed the Aventon just had a pedal sensor. In actuality, a torque sensor is present in the Aventure.2. It appears that the controls are attempting to partially offset the weight of the bike. Due to the moped’s weight and brutish construction, the driving style appears natural to the sensor, if not a little sluggish and uninspiring. Since it’s not a typical e-bike, I don’t mind; it’s simply a matter of getting used to it. However, based on the shop’s photographs, who Expecting a trail bike to be enjoyable in the bike park is probably unrealistic. It’s more of a bike that virtually transports you on a journey around the globe that includes crossings through deserts. I am unable to foresee whether the parts will be so dependable, though.

I’m quite happy with the way the drive is being controlled. because of how precisely the bike reacts and how well-balanced the assistance is. However, this perception always relates to personal emotions and is influenced by personal choices. Contrary to other inexpensive e-bikes, this one does not have a speed control system and supports all levels of speed up to 45 km/h. Additionally, the stages’ interplay is suitably coordinated.

I can reassure anyone who might be put off by the throttle lever’s legality in the images. As is the case with the bikes from Rad Power Bikes, for example, this is simply a starting aid up to 6 km/h. Anyone who has read our test reports is aware of how impressed we are with the starting aids because they are just so wonderfully useful. This is also true of the Aventon Aventure.2, however in this case the acceleration is constrained by the heavy weight. However, a really helpful feature to get going at the following traffic signal.

The Aventon Aventure.2 is a little pedal-powered motorcycle, not an e-bike. The Aventure.2 is a lot of fun in many ways thanks to its brute alignment, quick top speed of 45 km/h, and hefty weight. The Aventure.2 is actually equipped with broad tires, a large battery, and high-quality disc brakes, making it ready for any adventure.

I already have a pace and the level is a step up. The torque drive makes for a smoother transition and easier to start off. The shocks also smooth out the ride. However it is a bit harder to get a workout at a slower speed. Level seems much faster at assist 1.

I bought this to commute to work and now I take it everywhere. I live in Seattle, it climbs hills like a champ. The hills were always my barrier for regular bike commuting because let’s face it. who want to show up to a meeting all sweaty. This is the best purchase I’ve made in a long time!

Coming from a level 1 step through there was something familiar about the level 2 when I rode it. The torque sensor really does make the ride more smooth. The new backlit display is bright and easy to see in the daylight. The brake light and side lights make me feel safer on my commute home from work at night. I honestly didn’t want to wait for someone to assemble it for me so I did it myself. I was a bit nervous but the bike is pretty much assembled on the package. I just had to watch the easy to follow instructions on the Aventon website. All in all it took me about an hour to assemble. I definitely recommend purchasing the level 2. you won’t be disappointed 🙂

I bought the Level 2 for my wife and she was having so much fun I decided to get a Level 2 for myself. I have been riding a roadie for 26 years. I am 75 years old and sometimes the knees get a little sore. This is something my wife and I can do together and keep up with one another. She gave up on standard bike riding because of her knees and now she has no problems. This is a well built bike and brings the joy of riding back in our lives. The bikes are heavier than normal but we purchased a ramp for our porch and we keep the bikes in the house. Buy one-you won’t regret it.
