The Kaabo Mantis has been an iconic escooter since its initial release in 2018. Since 2018, Kaabo has released updated versions each year improving on the design.

The newest 2022 Mantis V2 from Fluid Free Ride is Jimmy’s favorite Mantis escooter we have reviewed. The sine wave controllers make for ultra smooth acceleration and not the jerky feeling you get from Minimotors square wave controllers.

In this review, we will let you know what we love and hate about the Mantis V2 along with the important updates for 2022, including why we think the LG version battery is the best option for most riders.

The suspension is better on the Mantis V2

The suspension spring on the Mantis V2 is now stiffer. A stiffer suspension reduces the stem from flexing when accelerating and braking.

In the previous versions of the Mantis, the suspension coil was pretty soft, which led to the stem flexing back towards you when accelerating and flexing forward when braking.

The new stiffer suspension helps minimize the stem flex, which ultimately leads to a safer riding experience.

The stiffer suspension also helps stabilize the scooter when traveling at higher speeds.

Improved lighting on the Mantis V2

The Mantis V2 adds a higher mounted light on the stem and turn signal indicators.

In the past, there were only deck lights on the Mantis and while the side LEDs on the Mantis helped make you more visible in dark conditions, the front facing lights were awful for night riding because they were too low to help riders see farther than 3 feet in front of them.

With the additional handlebar height mounted light, the light beam throw is increased making it more useful in the darkest nights.

The turn signals are another great addition for safety, but they can be hard to see, since they are so low to the ground.

How much does the Mantis V2 weigh?

The Mantis V2 24.5Ah version weighs 68.4 lbs.

The Mantis V2 18.2Ah version weighs 66 lbs.

The Mantis V2 is one of the lightest scooters that go over 35 mph and because the Mantis V2 locks into itself when folded, it is one of the easiest 35 mph escooters to transport up stairs and load it into vehicles.

What type of riding experience should I expect from the Mantis V2?

The Mantis V2 offers a smooth riding experience.

If you hate the jerky feeling you get with Minimotors controllers, you’ll love the silky smooth experience from the sine wave controllers on the V2. The Mantis V2 ramps up speed smoothly which helps in turns.

On previous models of the Mantis, I had to be careful not to accelerate too hard out of turns. If I accelerated too hard out of turn, I could feel the rear tire slide out on me because there was too much power being delivered.

With the Mantis V2, I can mash down on the throttle out of turns and not worry about the rear tire sliding out. The sine wave controllers create a smoother acceleration curve, so you can grip it and rip it out of turns.

The smooth Mantis V2 offers a completely different feel than the Mantis Pro.

How do I know if I am in eco/turbo mode and single motor/dual motor on the Mantis V2?

The buttons to toggle between eco/turbo modes and single/dual motor modes look the same as the previous Mantis version, but they added a blue led to help you know what mode you are in.

I didn’t mind the buttons in the past, because I could easily tell what mode I was in by riding the scooter a few feet. However, it is nice to have something visually telling me what mode I am in.

What type of battery cells are in the Mantis V2?

Not all batteries are created equal.

The 24.5Ah version of the Mantis V2 features LG or Samsung battery cells.

The 18.2 Ah version of the Mantis Pro feature DMEGC battery cells.

LG and Samsung battery cells are far superior to DMEGC batteries simply because they are of higher quality. Higher quality battery cells typically have a higher capacity and will not fail as much.

You may never have an issue with DMEGC cells, but you may have a higher probability that a cell becomes imbalanced over time. If you have the money, I would highly suggest getting the larger battery.

Can you see the display on the Mantis V2 in direct sunlight?

The LT-01 display on the Mantis V2 is nearly impossible to read in direct sunlight, even in the brightest setting.

You can read the LT-01 display fine at night and overcast days. However, it gets completely washed out if the sun is out. I would like to see them improve the brightness, because I like to know my speed at all times.

If not seeing your display in direct sunlight is a big deal for you, then consider the Mantis Pro. The Mantis Pro uses a Minimotors EY3 display that can be easily read in direct sunlight.

Is the Mantis V2 or Mantis Pro faster?

The Mantis Pro is slightly faster than the Mantis V2, BUT the Mantis V2 is much smoother than the Pro version.

The Mantis V2 has two 25 amp sine wave controllers, where the Mantis Pro has two 27 amp square wave Minimotors controllers. The Mantis Pro has a faster acceleration curve and will hit 40 mph, where I can only reach 38 mph on the Mantis V2.

Is the light on the Mantis V2 bright enough for safe night riding?

The Mantis V2 high mounted light is 3 times better than previous models. However, the light is still a bit lackluster. If you are going to do a lot of night riding, I would suggest purchasing one of our favorite brighter lights.

Love/hate relationship with the silicone mat on the Mantis V2

I have a love/hate relationship with silicone decks. They are easy to clean, but they are a magnet for dirt and dust. You can clean the silicone mat in a few seconds, but it also just takes a few seconds to get the deck dirty.

I like that Kaabo is now using double sided tape on the edges of the silicone decks. In the past Mantis models, the silicone deck would flap around in the wind. There is no more flapping, because all the edges on the Mantis V2 are glued down to the deck.

In this hands-on review, we’ll test the extremely powerful Kaabo Mantis Pro from FluidFreeRide – one of the best electric scooters of 2023. Tag along as we give you insights gathered through several months of using the Kaabo Mantis.


Even though we’ve tested quite a few high-end electric scooters, we haven’t met anything quite like the Kaabo Mantis. In terms of speed and range, the Mantis is miles above your average electric scooter but without being too bulky.

The front and rear spring arm suspension is one of the most impressive aspects of this scooter as it enables this beast to conquer almost any terrain smoothly.

The Kaabo Mantis provides immense value for your money, although you pay a little more than with your average e-scooter. Consider this a proper commuting solution and not just a toy. As the Pro-version will take you 45 miles on a single charge it may be time to quit using public transport completely and save yourself money in the long run with the Mantis.

Motor Battery

One of the most impressive aspects of the Kaabo Mantis is its dual 1000-watt 60V BLDC motor system. Using a switch near the “cockpit”, you can quickly toggle between using one or two motors. This totals to 2000W of mean motor power. You’ll feel the kick!

Riding in single drive mode, you’ll get more range but enabling both motors provides much faster acceleration and higher top speed. You also have an eco/turbo toggle button that’ll allow you to choose further between speed and range.


The Kaabo Mantis accelerates like an absolute monster. To be honest, we started the scooter at a lower setting to really get used to the incredible pull it has before unleashing the full power.

During our tests, the Kaabo Mantis was able to go from 0 to 15 MPH in 2.8 seconds and reaching the 40 MPH top speed took 10.4 seconds. The Mantis accelerates really well especially at low speeds before balancing out when you pass 30 MPH.

Top Speed

The official number provided by Kaabo is 40 miles per hour. This is incredibly fast for an electric scooter, thus making it an excellent option for getting from A to B in no time. But how did it perform when we tested it?

On the handlebar display, you can always see your current speed. When I first got the Mantis Pro, practically all my friends had to try it. We’ve all been able to get it to 40 miles per hour (64 km/h). Finally, a scooter that lives up to the expectation!


The Kaabo Mantis Base has an FST Li-ion 60-volt 17.5Ah battery while the Pro version has a 24.5Ah lithium-ion battery from LG. The Pro version has notably better range but it also costs a bit more. We recommend you consider how much range you need before making your choice between the Base and Pro version.

Battery Range

Another thing that sets the Kaabo Mantis apart from the average scooter is its incredible range and battery power. The Base version has a range of 30 miles while the Pro version has a 45 mile range per charge. E-scooters are not only a solution to last-minute commutes anymore.

I regularly go on an adventure with my Kaabo Mantis Pro, exploring the beautiful countryside and urban areas around where I live. Nowadays, I get faster around than when using public transport and it is also a much cheaper solution – all thanks to the Kaabo Mantis Pro.

Braking Suspension

Another impressive feat of the Kaabo Mantis is its brakes and suspension system.


The Kaabo Mantis features dual disc brakes that’ll help you manage the high speeds comfortably. On the Base version, the brakes are semi-hydraulic while the ones on the Pro version are fully hydraulic.

Hydraulic brakes are more expensive than mechanical ones as they provide better performance in just about every aspect. As they’re more efficient, you don’t need to apply as much pressure. Overall, breaking will also feel less chunky.

The braking distance we measured from 20 MPH to 0 MPH was 13.3 ft which is really fast. They’re ultra-reliable and always provide control over your ride – even at high speeds.


The thing I’ve been most excited about with the Kaabo Mantis probably is its dual coil spring suspension system. It practically makes you feel like you’re hovering above the ground. Even the worst road conditions feel insanely smooth due to the dual spring arms.

Although this scooter may be intended for urban use, it is very capable of going off-road as well. I ride on grass, dirt, gravel on both rainy and sunny days with no problem.


The sturdy rugged 10″x2.5″ air tires on the Kaabo Mantis provides a solid grip in all road conditions and further improves suspension. Riding on air will always feel much smoother than with solid tires and the Mantis sure is a testament to that.

Build Quality Design

A product is only as good as the materials it’s built from. It is evident that Kaabo wanted to take no shortcuts in making the best electric scooter possible with the Mantis. It is a testament to brilliant design, thorough testing and quality materials throughout.

Safe Riding Experience

Due to the wide wheels, you can lean into corners at high speeds which is an absolute thrill to experience. It should also be mentioned, that even though you are going very fast, you always feel safe on the Kaabo Mantis. We especially have the suspension, wide build and sturdy quality materials to thank for that.

Furthermore, at the underside of the scooter, there’s a large LED panel that illuminates the night. It’s great for visibility and ultimately it just looks extremely cool.


It is no secret that the Kaabo Mantis is heavier than most, being 61 lbs in the Base version and 65 lbs in the Pro version. However, for a high-end scooter, that really isn’t all that bad. The Wolf Warrior 11, for instance, weighs a whopping 101 lbs.

The Kaabo Mantis has an extremely solid folding mechanism that lets you fold the scooter together so it fits better into your trunk. It is, however, not the easiest thing to bring around on cafes.

The stem features two locks that ensure it won’t wobble around when you’re riding. Some foldable electric scooters have had this problem in the past but the Kaabo Mantis is rock-solid throughout.

Customization Galore

As I mentioned earlier, we didn’t use the scooter at full power in the beginning as we wanted to get comfortable with it before unleashing all the power.

This speed limit customization is one of many that you can make with the Kaabo Mantis Pro. Unlike the Base-model, the Pro-version features a Minimotors Eye Display which is a major upgrade.

On this display, you can always see your current speed, gear and how much battery is left. You can customize throttle, top speed, acceleration level, toggle cruise control, and many other things.

What Could Be Improved?

Although there is very little room for improvement if you ask me, I still wanted to mention a few points that I’ve noted down through a few months of testing.

  • The rear tire mudguard is not too effective. If you ride in very wet and dirty conditions, you may end up having mud sprays on the back like me.
  • With an electric scooter in this price range, it would’ve been nice to have a locking option – at least as an add-on you could buy. Instead, you’ll have to opt for one of these if you want to keep your scooter locked in public.

Wrapping It Up

The Kaabo Mantis Pro is the best electric scooter I’ve ever had the opportunity to try (and I’ve tried dozens). Not only is it incredibly fast, but the range is outstanding too, making this a behemoth able of conquering whatever you throw at it.

The attention to detail, built quality and customization options using the Minimotors Display sets it apart from other scooters I’ve tried – even in this price range.

If you’re serious about getting a proper electric scooter and you’re willing to pay some extra, the Kaabo Mantis is the ideal choice for you.

I use it almost daily and it’s an absolute blast to get up on every time – I’ll never get tired of it.

Despite the oversaturation of the high-end electric scooters market, the Kaabo Mantis Pro has managed to stand out as one of the most capable units in terms of speed, range, and overall reliability.The Kaabo Mantis Pro isn’t the most wallet-friendly e-scooter out there; priced slightly higher than most competitor units within its class, but it offers a tremendous deal of value, justifying its comparatively steep price tag.

In this Kaabo Mantis Pro review, we cover everything you need to know about the e-scooter, from its design, speed, and power to its braking, suspension, and overall riding experience. We also made sure to shed light on a few excellent alternatives in case the Mantis Pro doesn’t meet your needs.

This electric scooter really does have a lot to offer and it definitely will exceed any expectation of it that you may have. Firstly, dependent on the weight of the rider and the speed you travel at, it can offer you up to 40 miles of range which is super impressive. It means that any trip you or your commute to and from work – can be done even if you don’t live close by.

Also with an impressive top speed of 40 mph – it makes being on this scooter a thrill, especially for those who want more from a scooter. The battery however does take around 8 hours for a complete full charge, but many riders don’t mind this as they love how this scooter operates.

Kaabo Mantis Pro Summary

The Mantis Pro absolutely crushed our expectations when it comes to its acceleration capabilities, in a good way, mind you. We had high expectations, to begin with, considering the scooter is equipped with a dual-motor system, 27A controllers, and a 60V battery, but it still blew us away.

This brilliant piece of machinery was able to go from 0 to 15 mph in only 2.0 seconds, which is insane for an electric scooter. It blew us away even more, when it reached its top speed in only 10.4 seconds.

Note that you may need to start at a low setting when you’re first getting started with the scooter so that you can get used to its pull. Bear in mind that this is one of the most powerful scooters on the market, so please don’t go full throttle right from the get-go.

We noticed that the Mantis Pro’s acceleration is pretty even and consistent at low speeds. It balances out at around 30 mph. Sensation-wise, you can feel the dual motors pulling you the second you squeeze the accelerator. The throttle is remarkably responsive with this scooter as well.

Compared to other scooters in its class, the Mantis Pro is a force to be reckoned with. It accelerates faster than the original Mantis. The only scooter we can think of that can slightly top the Mantis Pro is the Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11, reaching 15 mph at 1.9 seconds.

Performance Overview

When it comes to performance – this scooter offers it all.

Not only does it have a top speed of 36 mph but it does come with a range of 40 miles (this of course depends on the average speed you’d travel at and how much the rider weighs). But this is impressive and very quick for an electric scooter.

Top Speed Acceleration

With a dual 1,000W brushless motor system, the Kaabo Mantis Pro is able to reach a maximum speed of 40 mph, which is remarkably fast for an e-scooter. It’s able to go from 0 to 15 mph in 2 seconds; a testament to how powerful it is. It’s an excellent e-scooter for high-speed getaways.

Note that the scooter’s ability to reach top speed is influenced by the rider’s weight. For instance, with a rider weighing 163 lbs, the scooter’s top speed will be around 39 mph, whereas, with a rider weighing around 233 lbs, the scooter’s top speed will be approximately 36 mph.

Other factors that can influence an e-scooter’s overall performance include terrain and incline. The rougher the terrain and the more inclined it is, the longer it’ll take the scooter to reach top speed.

Also, note that extremely rough and steep terrain may restrict an e-scooter from reaching its official top speed. So, if you’re hill climbing with the Mantis Pro, don’t expect it to reach 40 mph.

Battery Life Range

Having learned about the Mantis Pro’s acceleration and speed, you’d think that it’s subpar in terms of range. After all, the faster an e-scooter, the more power it requires, which, in turn, translates to a lower range. To our surprise, the Mantis Pro makes no compromises when it comes to range.

The Mantis Pro’s official range is 40 miles, which is insane considering how fast it is. What’s even more impressive is that we were able to get more than 40 miles in our performance tests. To be more specific, we were able to get 45 miles out of the Mantis Pro.

Like we already mentioned, an e-scooter’s performance is influenced by various factors, including the rider’s weight, terrain, incline, and so forth, so don’t expect the Mantis Pro to always cover 40 miles. You must also note that an e-scooter can’t reach its maximum range if it’s not fully charged.

We feel the need to remind you that the Mantis Pro can operate in a single or dual-motor mode. The former will give you more range and less speed, whereas the latter will give you more speed and less energy conservation.

The Kaabo Mantis Pro is equipped with a 24.5Ah Lithium-ion battery from the industry-leader, LG. The battery is fully integrated into the scooter’s deck, meaning you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged from harsh bumps and sudden hits.

This scooter’s battery is quite capable, granting it a maximum range of 40 miles. It’s notably costly, which is one of the reasons why the Pro model is notably more expensive than the base model, which happens to house a 17.5Ah battery.

If the 40-mile range is too much for your needs and you’re looking to save some money, you should consider buying the base Mantis instead of the Pro model. If you want something in between, consider the Mantis Pro SE, which houses an 18.2Ah model.

The Mantis Pro’s battery needs anywhere from 13 to 16 hours to be fully charged. This is fairly long compared to other e-scooters in its class. Kaabo is planning to release a fast charger that you can buy separately. They’re saying that the charger can help reduce the charging time to 4-5 hours.

It’s worth noting that the Mantis Pro’s battery is equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS) that does an excellent job of protecting it against short circuits, under and overvoltage, under and overcurrent, and other faults of that nature.

Motor Configuration

The Kaabo Mantis Pro houses a powerful dual 1,000W 60V BLDC motor system, meaning you can toggle between using one or two motors at the same time using a switch near the cockpit. That being said, when both motors are engaged, the motor system is able to muster up a whopping 2,000W of motor power.

Why not equip the scooter with a single motor that can muster that kind of mean power alone, you might be wondering? Well, it’s not really about power. It’s more about the versatility of being able to switch between the single-drive and double-drive modes.

When you engage a single motor, you get more range, whereas, with both motors engaged, you get higher top speed and faster acceleration. You can switch back and forth between the two modes depending on what you prioritize.

The Kaabo Mantis Pro is also equipped with an eco/turbo button that enables you to toggle between range and speed. If you’re in a hurry to get somewhere, the turbo mode is your best bet. If the battery is running low on juice, toggling to eco mode will help it last longer.

Construction Build Quality

The design of the Kaabo Mantis Pro is something we really love about it. Everything on this scooter feels robust, safe and overall it has a very solid construction.

All the cables are neatly wrapped up and protected, all the bolts or screws that you can see on the scooter also look robust and neat. When it comes to the build quality of this scooter – there’s nothing we can’t fault.


Boasting a dual-coil spring suspension system, the Kaabo Mantis Pro is able to provide one of the smoothest riding experiences in scooter history. The dual spring arms do an excellent job of absorbing shocks and bumps, ensuring maximum comfort.

The Kaabo Mantis lineup of scooters is designed primarily for urban use, but thanks to the remarkable suspension system, the Mantis is able to travel across off-road terrain without any problems, be it gravel, dirt, grass, or other. It also performs very well on wet terrain.

Ride Quality

Overall, the Kaabo Mantis Pro has a smooth ride which is all down to its brilliant dual shock suspension and 10.0 pneumatic tyres which keeps the scooter sturdy at high speeds as well. This also means that the scooter can handle all types of terrain.

It feels very nimble and even when riders lean into a curve or a bend on the path you’re taking – you feel safe and supported at higher speeds as the scooter works with you. Some bigger scooters with a similar speed to the model can feel wobbly or as if you’ll lose your balance.


The Kaabo Mantis Pro, like the base model, features dual-disc brakes that are extremely reliable at higher speeds. The difference between the two models is that the Pro version has fully hydraulic brakes, whereas the base version has semi hydraulic brakes.

It’s worth noting that hydraulic brakes are notably more expensive than their mechanical counterparts because of their better performance. This is one of the reasons why the Mantis is one of the more expensive high-end scooters on the market.

What we love the most about hydraulic brakes is that they’re very efficient and responsive. You won’t have to apply a lot of pressure on the brakes for the scooter to respond.

During our performance test, the Mantis Pro’s braking was buttery smooth. It wasn’t chunky whatsoever. We were able to get a braking distance of around 13.3 feet from 20 to 0 mph. This is super fast compared to the performance competitor e-scooters.

What’s more, the Mantis Pro is equipped with dual electronic brakes. The strength of these brakes can easily be programmed to meet the rider’s requirements.

The electronic brakes feature an Antilock Braking System (ABS), which helps prevent the wheels from locking up, ensuring responsive steering while braking. The ABS can be toggled on and off.


The Kaabo Mantis Pro isn’t the most lightweight scooter out there, weighing 65 lbs. When you take into consideration that it’s a high-end scooter equipped with tons of impressive features, 65 lbs don’t sound too bad, especially when you learn that the Wolf Warrior 11 weighs a whopping 101 lbs. For your information, the base version of the Mantis weighs 61 lbs.

The scooter’s stem folding mechanism is quite reliable. It enables you to fold the scooter into a more compact size so that it’s easier to carry and put in the trunk of your car. It’s quite challenging to carry the scooter with one hand, though.

Bear in mind that the scooter’s handlebars cannot be folded, which makes it challenging to go through doors and tight openings with the scooter.

The stem is equipped with two locks that help prevent the scooter from wobbling around, which is a problem that’s quite common among most electric scooters. When folded, the scooter measures 48x24x19 inches.

The folding mechanism is responsive and very easy to use. It’s basically a sleeve that slides down, clamping the stem. Such locking systems tend to be loose, which is why the Mantis Pro is equipped with opposing quick-releases that help ensure firm locking; no bending, creaking, or wobbling.


The Mantis Pro is spangled with built-in lights. There are LED lights mounted on the front and back of the deck. There are also white lights mounted on the sides.

You’ll notice that all of the lights are near the ground, which makes it easier for other people to see you coming along the road. However, the lights don’t project that far ahead, so you’ll have a hard time seeing at night.

Luckily, this is a problem that can easily be solved by investing in high-mounted taillights and headlights. If you’re not going to ride your scooter at night, you don’t have to invest in high-mounted lights.


The Mantis Pro is equipped with large 10×3-inch pneumatic tube tyres. Their rounded profile adds to the scooter’s ability to provide a comfortable and enjoyable riding experience. They also contribute to the responsiveness and overall agility of the scooter.

Replacing the inner tubes and changing the tyres is super easy with the Mantis Pro, as the tyres are mounted on a split rim. Scooters with a solid rim are typically hard to work with in the event of a flat tyre.


The deck on the Mantis Pro measures around 20×20 inches, so it’s quite commodious in terms of standing space. The deck is outfitted with an emblemized rubber mat that helps maintain traction in both dry and wet conditions.

We love how the mat grips to the rider’s shoes, reducing the risk of slipping or falling. We also like that it covers all of the seams and screw holes in the top plate of the deck, giving the scooter a more aesthetically pleasing layout.

Controls Display

The cockpit on the Mantis Pro is nothing to write home about. It’s just a simple cockpit with wide handlebars that almost resemble those of a bicycle. One thing we don’t like about the handlebars is that their foam isn’t very high-quality and isn’t likely to last long.

On the controls, you’ll find the button you use to switch between single or dual motors. You’ll also find the button you use to switch between eco and turbo modes. Note that the scooter doesn’t feature a horn or bell, but you can purchase one separately. They’re pretty cheap.

And like all high-end scooters, the Mantis Pro has a Minimotors throttle on the cockpit. It’s a neat addition, but it gets uncomfortable the longer you use the scooter. You can find the throttle trigger built right into the LED display.

Speaking of which, the LED display is bright enough for you to read everything clearly in broad daylight. The backlighting is of the color green, which is convenient for night riding. The programming presets can be adjusted using the motor mode and power buttons.

Water Resistance

This electric scooter is not IP Water Resistant rated. Take care of its motor and battery to never go near a lot of puddles and water/rain.

There’s a bit more maintenance to go with this electric scooter, especially if you do take it to dirt or mud terrains. Aside from the occasional deep clean, just make sure to have the battery constantly charged, the tire’s pressure always on point, and the tyres spike thickness to never go below anything unsafe.

Known Issues

In our opinion, the Mantis Pro is the best electric scooter on the market today, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. There are a couple of things we think could use some improvement.

After having tested the scooter for a few months, we noticed that the mudguard on the rear tire doesn’t do its job all that well. When you ride over wet and dirty terrain, it’s highly likely that the back of the scooter will be sprayed with mud.

Another thing we wish this scooter had is a locking feature. You’d expect such a premium-priced scooter to come with a locking accessory such as a chain or combination lock, but it doesn’t, so you’ll have to buy one separately. Nonetheless, these are just minor complaints.

Is this E-Scooter value money and is it worth buying?

All things considered, we feel like the Mantis Pro is darn near perfect. Yes, it could use a better rear mudguard and a locking accessory, but we’re just nitpicking here.

The Kaabo Mantis Pro has everything right going for it, from remarkable speed and range to responsive steering and braking to excellent portability and deck standing space. It’s very well-rounded, all in all.

Overall, it’s a scooter that lives up to expectations and is perfect for people who like to cruise and power through beyond what the road can offer.

Will the Mantis Pro Be a Good Fit For You?

The Mantis Pro can be classified as sitting in the upper tiers of high-performance scooterdom. It offers more pace and power than your average performance model but isn’t quite up there with the likes of the Wolf Warrior or VSETT 10R. Fortunately, that’s exactly what allows the Mantis Pro to be available at a price, which – for what’s on offer – is an absolute steal.

The Mantis Pro is comfortable with pretty much all types of terrain. While it’s not cut from the same cloth as dedicated off-road models (such as the Dualtron Ultra and Wolf King), it’s completely at home soaking up the vagaries of forest trails and dirt roads alike.

At 65 lbs, it’s relatively lightweight. I say ‘relatively’ because the Pro is among the lightest scooters in its class, but by no means is it a commuter scooter. It’s 23 lbs heavier than the maximum weight I recommend for this type of scooter – so don’t let its trim, nimble appearance deceive you.

Ultimately, I recommend the Mantis Pro for anyone looking for a scooter that packs a powerful punch when it comes to speed and range. It’s also a great choice for casual riders looking to take a step up to something with a little more clout, or for those interested in making a hobby out of electric scooters.

Value for Money

Is the Price Tag Worth it?

When a scooter is slapped with the fairly lofty price tag of 2,290, it doesn’t feel particularly intuitive to call it a ‘bargain’. But trust me – for what you get, the Mantis Pro is worth every dime.

In terms of range, speed, hill-climbing, and specs, it outperforms a lot of the similarly-priced scooters in its niche. And, while it doesn’t have the enormous roll call of features as the VSETT 10, the Mantis Pro still offers plenty to love. If you have the money and are in the market for a top-tier performance scooter, you can’t spend it much more wisely than on the Mantis Pro.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other options to explore. The VSETT 10 is available at an almost identical price, and – despite being much heavier than the Pro – outstrips it when it comes to core specs and features. Another option you could consider if you’re on a budget is the Varla Eagle One. It has the same top speed as the Pro – and boasts a similarly impressive range – but is available for a whole 700 less.

Likewise, another stellar bargain, and standout pick, particularly if you’re already enamored with the look and feel of the Pro, is the Mantis Pro SE (Special Edition). This scooter takes pretty much everything good from the original (including its motors, braking system, and MiniMotors EY3 display), but knocks a whole 400 off the price. Sure, you won’t get quite as far off a single charge – but it sports uber-cool gold accents, and is ideal for riders that are operating on a shoestring budget.

Like the rest of the Mantis Pro, the handlebars are made of tough stuff. Not only are they composed of a hard-wearing aluminum alloy, but they’re both wide and tall – meaning you can always expect a comfortable ride.

Unlike some of the other models in the Pro’s upper-tier performance scooter niche, the Pro’s handlebars don’t fold – but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Some scooters with this functionality don’t tend to be as reliable as they can succumb to the dreaded wobble while you’re out on the road if they aren’t secured. At least with solid handlebars, there’s no chance of this kind of instability interfering with your ride.

The handlebars are also where you’ll find its Smart EY3 display – a device that not only serves as a central dashboard for your speed, riding mode, odometer, and battery life but as a finger throttle and switch for the scooter’s lights. On top of this, they are home to the riding mode (Eco or Turbo) and motor system selection (Single or Dual) buttons, plus its pair of hand-operated hydraulic brakes.

If there’s just one thing I could change about the handlebars, it’d be the foam hand grips. I prefer the rubber coatings you find on similar models (such as the VSETT 10) since I feel they provide more grip and slightly better control. But hey – I’m nitpicking.


The Mantis Pro plays it reasonably safe when it comes to the look and feel of its frame. Its color scheme can be summarized in three words – black, black, and, well…more black.

With its stripped-back, understated design, the Mantis Pro isn’t going to alienate anyone with its design choices – unlike certain additions to the VSETT range (I’m looking at you, the 11). However, by that same token, the Pro doesn’t exactly exude personality, and it fails to rival scooters like the VSETT 10 with its yellow and black Bumblee-esque highlights, the Apollo Phantom’s striking silver accents, and the Mantis Pro SE’s eye-catching gold trim (which you can view in the image below).

That said, the Pro still cuts a sleek, stealthy figure, while the very subtle accents of red (the springs are red, as are the thin linings along the tire treads) afford the scooter a vague air of mystique.


Wide, spacious, and with mood lighting embedded into the front, rear, and sides, the deck is an exhilarating fusion of style and substance.

Safety, too – the surface of the Pro’s deck is coated in an anti-slip rubber matting that helps keep your feet firmly planted while hitting wind-whipping speeds.

One thing to note when it comes to the matting is that it can flap up at the edges. This is so you can easily unscrew and lift the battery out. While this is fairly unconventional and can be seen as a design flaw, it is far from it. During our test rides, we encountered no problems with the matting – it performed as it should.


The Mantis Pro comes with a pair of large (10 x 2.5 inch) pneumatic tires. Not only are these air-filled – which provides a greater degree of ride comfort than scooters with solid or foam-filled tires – they have the perfect profile for the Mantis to remain nimble while riding.

The tires provide you with a large surface area (or contact patch) with the ground below, a design feature that helps not only with traction but with handling and stability, too – something that is key when you’re ripping up the asphalt at top speeds.

Best of all, the Pro’s wheels aren’t afraid to take a few knocks now and then. Whether you’re sticking to flat, well-paved urban roads, or roughing it out on forest and dirt trails, the Pro’s tires are the perfect partner.

Build Quality Durability

Kaabo – the company which produces the Manti line – doesn’t do things by halves. After all, this is the team behind the Wolf Warrior and Wolf King, so it comes as no surprise that the Mantis Pro shares much of the same build quality and robustness as its two distant cousins.

The Pro’s frame is made of a hard-wearing aviation-grade aluminum alloy. This hardened material is built to last and is well-equipped to withstand the stresses of everyday use.

My only gripe is that the Mantis Pro doesn’t sport any kind of water-resistance rating. While we’re used to seeing a lack of water resistance on Dualtron’s scooters, the Pro’s chief competitors – the Apollo Phantom and the VSETT 10 – both boast an IP54 certification, making the Pro’s lack of one all the more conspicuous.

Plus – as we’ll get to later, in the ‘Warranty’ section – any damage your Pro picks up that’s deemed to be the fault of the elements (including rain, sea spray, or wind) won’t be covered.

Moral of the story? If it’s wet out, keep your Pro in.

Weight Load

The Mantis Pro weighs 65 lbs, which is about what you’d expect for a scooter of its size and specs. However, the Pro does manage to weigh less than other scooters that also sport a speed of 40 mph and have similar ranges. Among these chubsters are the Varla Eagle One (40 mph, 77 lbs), the EVOLV Pro Plus (40 mph, 77 lbs), and the Dualtron 3 (40 mph, 80 lbs).

Against this backdrop, the Mantis Pro manages to find an equilibrium between speed and a lightweight frame – a balance that’s sadly all too rare in the world of high-performance scooters.

The Pro’s weight is most comparable with its more wallet-friendly sibling, the Mantis Base (also 65 lbs), and to the feature-rich Dualtron Eagle Pro (66 lbs).

The Mantis Pro supports a maximum of 265 lbs of rider weight. While this is fairly standard across scooters of the Pro’s ilk (and beyond – take pretty much the entire Dualtron range, for example), it’s not the best on offer.

That particular gong goes to the Mantis Pro SE, which ups the load-bearing ante to a whopping 330 lbs. Elsewhere, the Apollo Phantom (300 lbs) and VSETT 10 (285 lbs) support more load than the Pro.

Folding Portability

Although its handlebars don’t fold, the Mantis Pro still offers some degree of portability with a collapsible stem.

The folding mechanism is surprisingly intuitive. Simply loosen the quick release ‘buckles’ at the base of the Pro’s stem, and slide the locking ring upwards. Then, fold the handle post down and attach it to a small hook at the rear of the Pro’s deck.

Similar to the design of the Pro’s competitor, the VSETT 10 – the stem of which attaches to the kickplate when folded – this mechanism makes the Pro super easy to carry when collapsed and ensures that there’s no risk of the scooter accidentally coming unfolded while you’re transporting it.

Because the Pro’s handlebars don’t fold, the scooter loses ground to similarly-priced models such as the Dualtron Eagle Pro and the aforementioned VSETT 10. However, this is unlikely to be too much of a deal-breaker for those already leaning towards the Pro – while folding handlebars are a useful feature for portability and storage, I prefer to have everything on my scooters that push 40 mph solid since it eliminates the risk of them rattling loose (i.e no moving parts).


Like most electric scooters of its ilk, the Mantis Pro comes more or less fully assembled – however, you’ll still have a bit of work.

To get your Pro set up and road-ready, simply unbox it while taking care not to pull the steering bar out by itself (it’s attached to the main body of the scooter by cable work, which you don’t want to damage).

Place it on the floor, securing it with the kickstand, and lift the handle post into an upright position. Slide the locking ring downwards to prevent the handle post from moving around while you secure it. Then, close the pair of quick-release buckles around the locking ring, and make sure that the buckles are tight.

Finally, place the handlebars on top of the steering column, and screw the metal plaque onto the handle post. When tightening the screws, place the handlebars in the position that is most comfortable for you. All that’s left is to tighten any loose components such as the EY3 display and motor selection buttons.

Once you’re all set and are confident that you know how to fold and unfold your scooter’s frame securely, it’s worth also getting to grips with the range of P-settings the scooter’s Smart MiniMotors EY3 display offers. You’ll also want to ensure that the scooter is sufficiently charged, as well as double-checking the pressure of those nimble pneumatic tires.

As I’ll touch on shortly, the LED setup isn’t sufficient for riding at night, so – if you are planning to head out in the dark – you’ll want to attach an extra USB headlight to be safe.

Ride Quality

Is the Mantis Pro Comfortable to Ride?

There’s a reason why riders consistently award the Mantis Pro the coveted title of the best overall electric scooter.

Well, a bunch of reasons, really. While it delivers excellent value for its overall specs, build quality, and performance, one of the biggest reasons why the Mantis Pro is so overwhelmingly popular is that it’s just so comfortable to ride.

And why wouldn’t it be? The Mantis Pro has it all. Large, 10-inch pneumatic tires as the first line of defense against rougher terrain. Adjustable front and rear spring suspension. Tall handlebars to suit riders of all heights. A load of 265 lbs to support heavier riders. Powerful hydraulic brakes with an effective anti-lock braking system that instills rider confidence. And, a smooth, yet exhilarating acceleration rate.

So yes, the Mantis Pro isn’t just comfortable to ride – it offers one of the finest ride experiences in the electric scooter market. Period.

Performance Safety

The Mantis Pro is capable of hitting top speeds of up to 40 mph. Of course, the only way to tell how good this is in the context of the wider electric scooter market is to compare the Pro to other models. So how does it stack up against the closest competition when we introduce the variables of speed and price?

Speed vs Price Comparison

Taking a 500 price range with the Mantis Pro’s 2,299 in the middle, the scooter comes in with a confident middle of the pack finish.

The Mantis Pro’s 40 mph top speed is matched by the Dualtron Eagle Pro, the EVOLV Pro Plus, and the Speedway 5. over, all these models are available for less than the Mantis Pro – but are they the best alternatives?

Let’s dig deeper. Taking into account the Mantis Pro’s acceleration rate (which I’ll unpack in more detail in a second), it stands well above all 3 models thanks to its powerful dual 60V 1000W motors, which provide an impressive amount of torque.

The Pro can hit 15 mph from a standstill in a mere 2.0 seconds while the EVOLV Pro Plus and Dualtron Eagle Pro are 0.5 and 0.7 seconds slower respectively. As for the Speedway 5, it has a telescopic stem and foldable handlebars. There’s a time and a place for these (on commuter scooters) but on performance scooters, I prefer everything to be solid (i.e. no moving parts). There is an exception to this though – foldable handlebars are fine on performance scooters if they securely lock into place with no wobble. However, the Speedway 5 uses spring-loaded handlebar cuffs which means they aren’t as secure as those that screw into place. For a scooter that can hit 40 mph, you need a model that you can rely on for stability.

On the other hand, it’s hard not to look at the VSETT 10 (25.6Ah) as a stellar alternative to the Mantis Pro. As well as topping all other scooters in the Pro’s price bracket for speed, at 50 mph, it’s a whole 25% faster than the Pro. It’s also 15% pacier when it comes to acceleration. Other speedy Mantis Pro alternatives you could consider are the Zero 10x 60V and Apollo Pro 60V – however, both of these scooters will set you back an extra 109 and are in short supply since they have been replaced with newer models (the Apollo Pro 60V with the Apollo Phantom, and the Zero 10X with the aforementioned VSETT 10).

When it comes to speed, the worst performer in the Pro’s price class is the Dualtron Spider.

Speed vs Weight Comparison

Looking again at the Mantis Pro’s most like-for-like scooters – but this time assessing them on the metric of weight, rather than price – sees the Mantis Pro emerge on top.

Alongside its siblings, the Mantis Pro SE and Mantis Base – as well as the Dualtron Eagle Pro, Dualtron Compact, and Speedway 5 – the Pro is one of the fastest scooters in its ‘weight division’ of 60 to 70 lbs.

At the wrong end of the rankings, the INOKIM Ox Super is the slowest scooter in the Mantis Pro’s weight class. Slow and heavy? Sounds like ‘Ox’ is the right name for it.

Ultimately, if you want to save a little cash and don’t mind having 10-15 miles less range but still want to take advantage of full hydraulic brakes and two powerful 60V 1000W motors, the Mantis Pro SE is a fantastic choice. Plus, the SE’s gold trim injects a dash of flair that is missing on the original Mantis Pro.


While many scooters rival the Mantis Pro’s 40 mph pace, few can go toe to toe with its blistering levels of acceleration.

Powered by those beastly 60V 1000W motors, the Mantis Pro can reach 15 mph from a stationary position in just 2 seconds flat, and 25 mph in 4.1. For context, I consider scooters that can hit 15 mph in under 2 seconds to be extremely fast – so the Mantis Pro is certainly up there with the market’s best.

However, it’s not the quickest off the mark. It’s the Pro’s old nemesis the VSETT 10 that comes back to haunt it, and I’m not surprised. With dual 60V 1400W motors, a pair of 35A controllers, and a ‘Sport’ (a.k.a. ‘Turbo Boost’) mode for injecting an additional 5Ah of power, the 10 is an absolute boss.

In fact, the VSETT 10’s acceleration rate – 1.7 seconds 0 to 15 mph, and 3.6 seconds 0 to 25 mph – is not only 15% and 12% faster, respectively, but unparalleled across its entire price class. Talk about a worthy adversary.

As you can see, the Mantis Pro SE (Special Edition) matches the original Pro when it comes to acceleration (speed, too). Because of this, the SE is a great alternative to the Pro if you want to save a little cash.

Placing last in the acceleration rankings here is the Apollo Phantom. Now, the eagle-eyed reader will notice that this scooter wasn’t mentioned in the previous performance sections – but this doesn’t mean it should be overlooked. The Phantom is, after all, a feat in electric scooter engineering, delivering the perfect balance across all areas (or, as I like to call it, the ‘complete package’).

So, while the Phantom is ever so slightly slower than the Pro, has a less explosive acceleration rate, and doesn’t go quite as far, I still recommend it as a fantastic alternative to the latter. With good speed and mileage, fantastic ride quality, an IP54 water-resistance rating, powerful LED setup, and 20 adjustable settings for customized performance, the Phantom is a strong contender.

The Mantis Pro boasts a maximum range of up to 45 miles off a single charge. But how does that stack up against similarly-priced scooters?

Mileage vs Price Comparison

When we take the 10 other models in the Mantis Pro’s price bracket (250 on either side of its 2,299 price tag), it falls into the lower end of the middle of the pack, sandwiched between the 40 mile range of the Apollo Phantom, and the 50 miles of the Dualtron Eagle Pro.

Just like when we compared speed with price earlier, the Dualtron Spider, again, comes in last – suggesting it’s a little overpriced for the mileage and velocity it provides.

At the top of our mileage vs price rankings, however, sits a different MiniMotors scooter – the Speedway 5. Nearly two hundred dollars cheaper, and with a range of 75 miles, the Speedway 5 claims gold – and by a considerable margin, too. The Speedway 5 also has some pretty neat extra features the Mantis Pro lacks, such as a telescopic stem and foldable handlebars.

However, the Speedway 5 is by no means perfect. The same tech that makes its handlebars foldable – spring-loaded handlebar cuffs – also render them not particularly secure, especially when you compare them to those that screw into place. Plus, while telescopic stems are a nifty value add for enhanced portability, on scooters this fast, I prefer everything to be ‘solid’ – so, no moving parts.

Given the deficiencies of the Speedway 5, I’m inclined to declare the VSETT 10 as the top scooter in the Mantis Pro’s category when it comes to range. With a colossal 66 mile capacity (that’s 47% greater than the Mantis Pro’s 47 miles) complimenting a front spring and rear hydraulic suspension system, the 10 isn’t just reliable, but extremely comfortable, too.

Oh, and one final note. While the Mantis Pro’s maximum manufacturer-stated range may not seem much to look at, its real-world range (yep, there’s a difference) is around 30-33 miles. This not only matches the real-world range of the Dualtron Eagle Pro but beats the Apollo Pro 60V and EVOLV Pro Plus, as well as both the Zero 10X 52V and 60V varieties.

When viewed from this perspective, the Mantis starts looking like an excellent long-range electric scooter.

Mileage vs Weight Comparison

Looking at the Mantis Pro’s mileage through the prism of similarly weighted scooters – that is, taking the 9 comparable models in its 60 to 70 lbs class – it shows us that the Pro is again firmly ensconced in the middle of the pack.

Once again, the Speedway 5 is the trailblazer – its 75 mile range making up for the bulkier 70 lbs haul of its frame. Following closely is the INOKIM Ox Super, which – despite not being the paciest machine on the market, nor the quickest accelerator – is a dependable one. Its huge 56 mile range and comparatively lightweight 61 lbs weight make it an attractive proposition for some riders, though you may be put off by the Ox Super’s lack of dual motors (or, as some might say, its ‘oomph’).

The Mantis Pro is also pipped for range by two classy Dualtron models – the Eagle Pro and the Compact. Again, though, these scooters have their drawbacks, and I’m reluctant to recommend either over the Mantis Pro. The Eagle Pro, for instance, is missing hydraulic brakes, while its lack of a kickplate compromises ride quality. Similarly, the Compact is a great scooter, but its ride quality is let down by solid tires and weak shock absorption.

With all the scooters ranking above the Mantis now somewhat dethroned, it starts becoming clear that – as an all-around scooter that’s well-equipped for long rides – the Pro is the best option. Dual motors, strong mileage, hydraulic brakes, a reinforced kickplate, and excellent ride quality? This one’s the real deal.

Hill Climbing

With a 30-degree incline rate, the Mantis Pro is one of the best hill climbers available for its price point.

That said, there are better hill climbers out there. And, if you want to up the ante when it comes to tackling the more ambitious gradients, you can always plump for the VSETT 10 25.6Ah instead. With absurd slope-smashing abilities (it can handle an incline rate of up to 35 degrees), the 10 is the better choice if you’re going to be exploring hillier areas.

Shock Absorption / Suspension

On top of a pair of chunky 10 by 2.5 inch pneumatic tires, the Mantis Pro derives its best-in-class shock absorption from a dual spring swingarm suspension system.

Bouncy and buttery-smooth, the springs at the front and rear are capable of gobbling up the impact from pretty much any type of terrain you can throw at it: from dirt road tracks and forest trails to the asphalt avenues and concrete of the city.

Of course, those pneumatic tires help. Because they’re air-filled – rather than filled with solid rubber or foam – they are better equipped to absorb the bumps and crevices of everyday rides.

The Mantis Pro is equipped with high-quality, full hydraulic Zoom disc brakes, accessible via a pair of hand-operated brake levers on the scooter’s handlebars.

This is good news. In my opinion, hydraulics are the best kind of brakes you can get. And it seems, for the most part, that the engineers and manufacturers of the electric scooter industry agree – just over half (55%) of scooters in the Mantis Pro’s pricing bracket sport them.

Built to improve on the more basic specs and features of the Mantis Base, the Pro’s brakes do just that. The Pro upgrades the semi-hydraulic braking system of the Base to double down on the hydraulic discs, and give you some of the most responsive, silky-smooth braking available.

Backing up the hydraulic setup are regenerative brakes. These force-feed the kinetic energy that would otherwise be lost to the stopping process back into the battery. This helps conserve your battery while helping you come to a safer, more complete stop. You can toggle the strength of the regenerative brakes via the Pro’s intelligent EY3 display (which you can read more about in the ‘Extra Features’ section below).

The Mantis Pro also sports an ABS (anti-lock braking system). This is a neat piece of tech that prevents the wheels from locking up and skidding when you engage the brakes.

However, this feature won’t be for everyone – particularly with the Pro, which has an especially strong ABS. While this functionality offers an extra layer of protection, it causes a minor vibrating and shuddering feeling when engaged. I, personally, like having ABS engaged but you can easily toggle it on or off by heading to the P-settings in the scooter’s EY3 display.

Charge Time

If you are contemplating buying the Mantis Pro, let me remind you that patience is a virtue. Why?

Because the Mantis Pro’s LG battery takes a lengthy 13 to 16 hours to reach full charge.

While this is particularly long for a scooter of the Pro’s class, with two chargers, that period is as short as 5 hours.

For context, even with just one charger, the VSETT 10 20.8Ah reaches full charge in 10 hours.

However, you can purchase a 60V fast charger that will drive your Pro’s charging time down even further. You can get your hands on it for 139.

Extra Features

EY3 MiniMotors Display Throttle For Customized Performance Configuration

To the right of the handlebars, you’ll find the MiniMotors display – a luminescent LED screen, ringed in a muscular, circular frame of reinforced black plastic.

Seasoned scooter enthusiasts will recognize the MiniMotors name as the brand behind high-performance Dualtron and Speedway models. These scooters are easily among the finest in the industry and have the EY3 display to match. And, in cutting a slice of that technology, the Mantis Pro can stand alongside Dualtron’s models with pride.

This device – which doubles as a finger throttle, allowing you to control your scooter’s acceleration and speed – is where you’ll view all the data you need to know about your scooter and ride status. I’m talking speed, battery life, current (and total) ride time, riding modes… the list goes on.

Delving deeper into the EY3 display’s P-settings will get you lost in a rabbit hole of comprehensive features and functionality. You can set your speed and activate cruise control, as well as enable the ABS (anti-lock braking system) function and tweak the strength of the Pro’s regenerative brakes in a pinch. It’s simple to make adjustments to the motor’s torque, too, which provides you with greater control over the scooter’s power output.

The EY3 also boasts a range of settings designed to prolong your battery life, and help you hit that maximum 45 mile range. These include adjusting the screen’s brightness, enabling its auto-timer off settings, and taking advantage of its battery saver mode.

As you’ve probably realized by now, the EY3 display is one of the most customizable display screens in the electric scooter industry. But what else would we expect from MiniMotors?

Driving Mode Motor System Selection Buttons

Situated under the EY3 display, slightly below the handlebars, is a pair of red and yellow buttons.

The one on the left, which says “Eco/Turbo”, regulates the maximum power output by allowing you to toggle the amount of power being pulled to the motors. Leaving the button unpressed activates ‘Eco’ mode, which – by reducing torque and top speed, and restricting your scooter’s power accordingly – allows you to hit the top threshold of the Pro’s 45 mile range.

Pressing the button, on the other hand, removes the speed cap, enabling you to hit 40 mph and benefit from the zippy acceleration rate. However, ‘Turbo’ mode means you won’t profit from the Pro’s maximum mileage. With this setting, you can expect to get around 30 miles of ride time per charge.

The other button says “Single/Dual”, and, of course, refers to the motors.

Simply put, pushing it engages both motors – allowing you to access the scooter’s full pace and power – while leaving it will engage the rear motor only. It’s a similar story as above – where dual motors score you top speeds but also drain your battery more.

Essentially, these two buttons provide you with four possible combinations for customizing your ride’s speed, range, torque, and power. Master the art of using these buttons alongside the EY3 display/throttle, and you’ll have ultimate control over your ride.

Cruise Control

Don’t fret, the Mantis Pro sports a cruise control feature. Once engaged – which you can do by heading to setting P6 on your Pro’s EY3 display – you’ll be able to maintain a constant speed without having to keep the finger throttle depressed. Gently squeezing the brakes disengages the feature.

There are two numbers, which correspond to the on/off status of the cruise control feature. 0 = OFF, 1 = ON.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)

The Mantis Pro comes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). This feature works in tandem with the scooter’s hydraulic brakes; preventing the wheels from locking up when you want to come to a stop quickly. Ultimately, they prevent you from skidding and potentially being thrown off in the process.

ABS technology is common on scooters of the Mantis Pro’s caliber, and – as far as safety goes – it’s an excellent inclusion. However, as I mentioned earlier, it’s not for everyone, given that, when applied, ABS can cause a shuddery, vibratory effect up through the scooter.

You can toggle the ABS setting on and off via the scooter’s P-settings, accessible through the Smart EY3 display.

Mood Deck Lighting and Button Lights

In addition to a set of front and rear lights – which are embedded into the scooter’s deck – the Mantis Pro also has a beautiful strip of side lighting that runs the length of the platform.

Much like the shifting, kaleidoscopic effects of the Dualtron Eagle Pro – or the elegance of the NAMI Burn-e’s deck-embedded lighting strip – the Mantis Pro’s mood deck lighting is great for, well… setting the mood. It’s a really neat, aesthetically focused feature that not only improves your visibility by illuminating the scooter from below but serves up a dash of flair that other scooters lack.

The only downside here is that the Mantis Pro doesn’t have a headlight. Because of this, and the fact that the front button LEDs aren’t the most powerful and are located so close to the ground, the lighting setup isn’t up to scratch for riding at night. For that reason, I recommend investing in an extra headlight to attach to the handlebars.
