The St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) will be bringing the Beausejour Stadium to life on Sunday, 25th July 2010 as the Association stages its annual Rhythm & Spice Festival.   Rhythm and Spice was conceptualized and first hosted by the SLHTA in 2006 and provides members with a stage for showcasing their food, drinks and service offerings.  Additionally, the event serves as a medium to highlight the essence of St. Lucia’s tourism and to provide the public with an opportunity to be a part of this ever expanding sector.

The Rhythm & Spice festival will involve the best of St. Lucian music, culture, food, fashion, service offerings and entertainment for the enjoyment of all.  There will also be a special booth dedicated to advertising careers in hospitality, which would hopefully interest school leavers in the opportunities provided by this dynamic tourism sector. It will also provide an ideal setting for the post-carnival cool down.

Rhythm and Spice features the culinary skills of the island’s chefs and their innovative use of local products, which will allow the public to sample the mouth-watering foods and beverages prepared at the event.  An atmosphere of camaraderie and competition is created, as each team tries its utmost to win the coveted title of “Best Team of the Year”.  The event also highlights the talents of the many musical bands that regularly ply their trade at the various hotels, restaurants and other tourism establishments. The SLHTA’s Rhythm & Spice Festival will commence at 11:00am on Sunday, 25th July and is expected to end at 6:00pm. The entire public is invited to join in the activities, sample the food and drinks, learn more about the opportunities for employment and business development in the tourism sector and make it a day for an enjoyable family outing.
